SOURCE: Canon mx700 rejecting remanufactured ink cartridges

big issue with remanufacturing is how integritous is the fit of the cartridge, and also the interface. When these are re cut, so to speak, tolerances can stack up, and one thing about Canon, is they are a stickler for tolerances. You may have an issue with the cartridge fitting in the carriage, but not interfacing with the system. Happens sometimes..

got backup?

SOURCE: error code U140 check ink because I used a non-OEM cartidge

You need to buy the ink with the new chip installed, or buy a resetter. The only way to print now is with a new cartridge either Canon, or with a new chip.

I have changed one of the cartridges(colored one) in my canon mp450,after inserting it,the printer flashed U140 saying that the ink cartridge cannot be recognized. what shall i do to correct this...

Hi there, Try the following. Remove all the cartridges. Then switch Printer off.. Wait a minute or 2 then switch printer on again and install the cartridges again. Also make sure that on the cartridges the little golden contacts are clean.
If that didn't work try doing the following. It will reset your printer.
1: Power off printer
2: Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
3: Hold POWER and release RESUME
4: Press RESUME twice
5. Release Power button
6: When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange.
7: Press Power to set data

The orange light is lit up on the printer. What does this mean?

There is a problem with the printer. Press resume button again and see if the light orange light goes off. If not then switch off the computer wait for sometime and start again. If it still persists read the error code.

Pic`s wrong colors

you need to check
1) same color ink of the cartridge almost empty, change a new ink cartridge or refill the color ink (there is only one ink cartridge)
2) the cartridge ink channel dryer and constipated, take out the cartridge put the bottom surface touch down clean water (a little) 1 hr, then set back if the cartridge has enough ink.

Alarm light is lit -

Ok my printer is giving me the U140 message saying that ink tank cannot be recognized. The new ink tank is Cannon (not a off brand or refill). i think it is a problem with the chip reader port inside the printer not the ink tank chip. I feel this way because if you switch around the yellow and black 8 tanks, the printer accepts them without error.. soo if it was the ink cartridge i could be able to swap the black with the magenta and it should read it.
