Open Question

Missing Remote for VR2080, any ideas on how to setup without?

I need to enable simulated four or five channel, but without remote I am lost. Can you direct me to where to buy a used remote or how to somehow turn on and control rear channels/center channel/surround sound?

SOURCE: Surround sound not working properly

Hi guys,

Make sure that your sound aka dvd or whatever is set for a DTS (5.1) set your dvd at bitstreem and your receiver to automatic detection. When your movie will start you will heard your Receiver Relay//Mosfet clicking and a Red led will say DTS once you get there you will be able to select your Doldy digital surround the real one.

Ps: if you want to reset your VR-309 to default HOLD the POWER button for 5 sec unplug it from the wall hold it for 5sec while unplugged and replug it will be rested to default.

SOURCE: Kenwood VR6070 speaker/amp problems

unit needs repair. Look at the b speakers. Conect a speaker or two to the B position. If you have no sound than your surrond sound is ok and the unit is bad. Sound comes directly into the b speaker and not threw the surrond system. My 6070 has a cold start up problem. no sound. time to purchase a new one. to costly to repair.

Hello
Sony RM-AV3100 remote has no codes to setup with any Integra devices. You have to try its code search method. Sometimes you may find a code. But not sure. Go to the user manaul of that remote. There is proceedings for code search process. The codes are four digits indeed. OK.

I have a sony STR-DE897 and my rear speakers dont get sound when plugged into the surround back ports..Is there a certain setting in order for the rear surround spreakers to work? or does that mean the...

There are a few things required for the rear surround channels to operate;

1. The surround back channels must be enabled in the surround setup menu.

2. The media being played through the receiver must have audio encoded for the rear surround
channels. There are only a few exceptions to this but I'll exclude the explanation for simplicity.

3. The audio level of the speaker channels must be set high enough to be audible.

Enter the surround setup menu with your remote. Use the center button on the remote to toggle through the selections, press down on it to enter the selection.
You will navigate to a selection in the surround setup menu that says "surround back" or S/B with a selectable yes or no indication. Press on the center button to enable them.

Media like DVD or Blu-ray that has 6.1 or 7.1 channel audio has separate, or often referred to as "discrete" or "matrixed" audio intended for playback through surround rear speakers, depending on the music or movie. If your media is encoded for 5.1, then there will be no audio sent to these speakers. However, with the different modes of on-board digital processing of this receiver you can still have audio through these speakers.

Last but not least is the actual playing level of these rear surround channels. They may simply be adjusted to quietly. Enter the setup menu with remote, choose "level" and navigate to the rear surround channels. You can adjust the level up or down in 1/2 dB level increments by toggling left or right with the center button. Each surround channel can and should be adjusted independently and equally.

AVR-1802 config

If you can find old Handspring Visor or Palm III Pda ( usually5-20 dollars
in trift stores/pawn shops/used gear shoppes ) there is/was a program
for it called "omniremote" ( and perhaps others ) that you could draw the
outlay of the particular remote and copy the IR-signals from a working
remote, so if you could get those 2 ( one of the 2 PDAs , the program )
and borrow a working remote from someone, you could then record
and rescue your remoting ability with the PDA. IT is usually good idea
to "capture" any particular remote with this kin of setup before they die or
get lost. DId this with my TV remote, and once the TV remote died, I could
pull the PDA-omniremote recorded out and contiue using the TV like nothing
happened. Just a thought,

Onkyo TX-SR500 Dolby Digital problem

I just read over the problem you were having with your Onkyo TX-SR500 receiver. It sound like the unit needs to be setup for all five channels.Sence your symptom says the diplay shows Dolby D3/2.1. According to the owners manual with the remote control look for speaker setup whin the button is pressed the current speaker setup will be shown in the display. Press the preset/adjustment<> to change the current setting to five speakers. the listening mode will automatically change according to the number of channels you selected. Hope this helps.
