Question about GE Security Simon 3 Wireless Home Security System

1 Answer

New Home, existing system, no information on what current access code is

My wife and I just bought a home that was foreclosed on. When escro closed we received one key and one garage door opener and nothing else. This was fine and dandy until the alarm system was accidentally activated. The Alarm system is a GE Simon 3 Security system.

Is there any way to do a hard reset on the system so that we can enter a new access code or reset it to a factory default code or something? I'm about ready to take a hammer to the thing just so we can open windows and doors again without fear of setting off our own security system

Same issue! Wish someone could answer it.

Thanks Jane Deaux. I think I responded to your solution on another post as well. I have managed to figure out how to shut down the system. But I still can't get it to a point where I can enter a new access code. My system's main power does appear to be in some inconspicuous place. At any rate, I removed the main power by detaching the incoming power lines from the main board itself. They were attached using screws, so removing them was not an issue. I also detached the system battery as well. I will leave it detached for a few days to make absolutely sure that I just didn't leave it detached long enough, but leaving it detached from all power for 10 hours didn't seem to do it.

There are two unused plugs on main board, one is a 4 pin plug and the other is a 5 pin plug. Are either of these used for gaining access to system settings or for resetting the system (ie such as jumpering certain pins?)

Incidentally, for anyone else who is just trying to get a quick fix to the alarm going off without destroying it, you can unplug the alarm speaker from the main board. This does not disarm the system, but rather, just mutes it for you.

Powering down for several hours should reset the code to 1234.

To power down, find where it plugs into the wall. It'll be a big plug, about the size of your fist ( a three-inch, block style plug), black, white or beige in color, probably a little screw holding it in. It may be directly below the panel or could be in the room on the other side of the wall of the panel. Otherwise, it may be in a garage, basement or attic. It may be in a weird place, like behind a couch in the living room or on the ceiling in the garage. Good luck finding it!

Next, disconnect the back up battery. This can be tricky because it's really easy to break the little tab that holds the compartment shut. With the cover open, look at the top of the panel or the sides/corners. CAREFULLY push the tab, open the cover and disconnect the battery.

Leave it powered down for 24 hours and then plug in the battery first, then plug it into the wall. The code should (hopefully) be 1234 now.

How to Hookup Your Outdoor Wood Boiler to Your Existing Heating System

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} You just bought or a thinking of buying an outdoor wood boiler. How do you integrate that boiler into your existing home heating system? The guy selling you the boiler wants the sale and tells you that hooking it into your system is very simple.

Outdoor wood boilers come in many shapes and sizes. For the most part bigger is better for these things. The next thing you need to consider is whether the boiler is open or closed. It does make a difference in the way it gets hooked up. Closed systems can be hooked right up to your existing boiler system in a primary secondary configuration. This means that the wood boiler circulates to two tees in your home system and the home system circulates the water through the home. The two waters mix through the tees.

If your wood boiler is an open system then you need to install a stainless steel flat plate heat exchanger to divide the two waters. The hookup of the heat exchanger is not that hard if you follow the instructions properly. This heat exchanger is very effect in transferring the heat from the wood boiler to the inside heating system. It also keeps the water of the inside system pressurized and isolated.

If you are installing your outdoor furnace to a hot air heating system then you need to buy a coil similar to your car radiator to install in the plenum on the supply side of your existing hot air furnace. To this coil you will hookup the water pipes from the outdoor boiler. The water running through the coil will heat it up so that the air going through from the hot air furnace will be warmed. The water hookup for this style of heat is very simple, but the electrical hookup of the blower, pump, and circulator may not be as simple. You may need someone with a good electrical knowledge to make everything happen in the right sequence.

Outdoor wood boilers can heat your home effectively if they are installed to your existing heating system properly. If they are installed properly you will notice no difference in the heating of your home. It will be warm and comfortable. Make sue that you do your research properly before trying to install your outdoor wood boiler.

How do i fix error code 20100

Code 20100 means the Wii is having connection problems with your WiFi. Nintendo says:

Error Code: 20100

  • There could be a temporary issue with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection servers. Please wait a few hours and try again.

  • If after waiting a few hours and the problem has not resolved, there could be a problem with your home connection. Try the following:

    1. Ensure your home internet connection is working properly. Use a PC that is attached to your home router and visit a website that you have not been to before, in order to check that the connection is currently working.

    2. Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase stability. For information on accessing your router's settings, click here to select the brand name and model number of your router (if available).

    3. Within the Wii's system settings, erase the current connection file you use to connect your Wii online, and set up a new one. To do this, access the "Internet" option from the Wii settings. For step-by-step instructions, click here.
If you are still receiving this error code after waiting a few hours and trying the steps above, please call 1-800-255-3700 for assistance.

About 80 volts AC is passing to ground and is on

Check the ground wire on the electrical outlet. You can get a simple outlet tester for $10 or so. Here's one at Ace Hardware for $12.

When we bought our current house, the electrician failed to connect the ground wire to two of the outlets in the basement, and the induced current was about 80VAC on the ground.

If this helps, be sure to hit the "Thumbs up" for me!
