It should move if you unscrew the handle at the base of teh table. There is also a lever on most of these saws, under the handle. Unscrew handle, operate lever to release locking pin and move. That's the theory anyway.

My ls1030 is very difficult to move through the various angles. How can I improve this action or is this just the result of aluminum against itself.

You can improve the angle adjustments by loosening the lock down knobs and cleaning the sawdust out from around and in the connections. Always do this with the saw unplugged. I lubricate mine with a fine spray of silicone and then tighten everything back up. The silicone doesn't attract as much sawdust as machine oil does.
Best regards,

Looking for help scouts have a carpentry merit badge from the 50s they talk about using a BEVEl and a Miter tools can you help

The bevel is an angle fiding tool. it consists of a wooden section about 4" long with a swivel bolt at one end connected to a slotted metal blade (similar to a 1 foot steel ruler). The bolt has a wing nut and bolt to allow loosenig to allow the blade to rotate and slide to the required angle where it is locked into position using the wing nut.
The mitre is a wooden block with slots cut into it at pre determined angles. ie 45 degrees. When cutting a mitre joint the wood is placed against the block and the saw follows the line of the slot cutting the 45 degree angle.
Hope this makes sense and good luck

I have a LS1030 that is about 14 years old. The saw is not cutting square and am wondering if there is an adjustment to the indexed stops for the angle of cut

go to and type in your model number and click on the owners manual section, on page 18-19 it gives instructions on how to set the fence and that should solve your problem. If I have helped you with your request would you please rate this response accordingly. Thank you.

Laser guide on Bosch 4410L miter saw is off.Can it be adjusted?

I looked thru their onwers manual and the parts breakdown and find no reference to adjusting the laser. I would recommend calling them direct at 1-877-267-2499 for assistance. I wish I have better information but this is all I can find. Good Luck

45 degree cut

Are you having problems with the miter or bevel ? Are you asking how to physically move the saw to that degree angle?
