I HAVE A EUREKA # 2961 . IT WON'T PICK UP ON BARE FLOORS ,RUGS IS DOSE S LITTLE BETTER . NEW BELT , CLEANED INSDIE AND OUT OF VAC STILL SAME THING

I have the same problem. I noticed that the roller spins forward on this model and there seems to be a lip to catch the dirt in the front. Essentially it appears as though the roller is spinning the wrong way. If it was spinning backwards it should catch it in the front and rotate to the back but with the roller spinning forwards it just shoots dirt out of the back since the back of the roller section doesnt have anything to catch dirt and debris.

I am going to see if there is a way to reverse the direction the spinning wheel spins and see if that helps. If anyone already knows of a way to do this please let myself and everyone else know. I have a feeling this will help the vacuum to work on bare floors and thin carpets.

Try removing the 4 screws on the bottom of the vacuum and remove the gray hose from the flexible clear hose on the back of the vacuum near the bottom then take a rag and push it through the hose to the outlet on the bottom it is a straight shot it should clean it out. I did this to solve my problem with no suction on the vacuum and it worked. You would be amazed how much hair and dirt are in there. Then just put everything back together and it should work just fine assuming you cleaned the air tube behind the canister too.

Just had this same issue with my vacuum. I ended up removing some of the foam filter above the intake. I rarely use the vacuum and would wash out the foam filter every few uses. It looks like this foam is still getting clogged up with dirt. Will try replacing it to see if that is the problem

My Miele S3141 canister began acting strange this morning. No suction...so I took off the hose and checked for blockage, (nothing). Now I can't get the hose back on the canister. It just slips ar

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Air filter:
If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up dirt and has no suction the air filter might be clogged. Remove the filter and either clean or replace it as needed.
Exhaust Filter If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the exhaust filter might be clogged. Remove and clean the filter, replace it if its torn or damaged.

Vacuum Hose If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum hose might be clogged. Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner, stretch it out straight, shine a bright flashlight in one end and try to see light through it. If no light can be seen, use something to run through the hose and free up the obstruction.
Vacuum Bag If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum bag might be full. Clean or replace the bag as recommended by the manufacturer.

Dust Cup AssemblyIf the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the dust cup assembly might not be installed tightly, or it might be cracked or broken. The dust cup must seal tightly in order to produce the right amount of suction. If it is cracked or broken, replace it. Most glues and adhesives will not successfully seal the crack.
Blower Wheel If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and there is no suction, the blower wheel might be jammed or broken. Check the blower wheel to be certain it turns freely. If it doesn't, check to see if there is anything rubbing against it. If not, but it's hard to turn, the motor is most likely the problem.

Brushes move but won't pick up anything

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. If the machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, and debris seems to be coming back out of the cleaner head, this is likely to be due to a blockage. The filters may also need a wash.

The easiest way to locate and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1148&product=DC25-ANIMAL

In normal use, the filters should be washed at least once every 3 months as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for them to dry completely before replacing them.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our Helpline a call free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

Shark SV736R motorized brush won't rotate

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.

I have a hoover steam vac F5915-900 I bought at walmart about 4 months ago. I used it about 5 times in differnet rooms. Today when I went to use it It won;t pick up the dirty water. I cleaned the filter...

Make sure the suction area of the face plate is clear of all debris. If anything else, call the number on the machine, it's still under warrantee if the machine doesn't work from normal use.

The suction will pick up and spit dirt back out on floor

This is an indication that the intake is clogged. Needs disassembly and cleaning.

Vacuum cleaner not picking up and sometimes spits ouit dirt

Check to see if bag (or if not bag then chamber is full).

Check to see if filter is clean.

If your vacuum has a bag, check to see that it is properly mounted.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific but it would help if you would specify what type of vacuum you have, whether you are using the hose or just the floor part, and where it is spitting the dirt from.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know the answer to the above questions and we'll go from there. Good luck!

It could be in reverse do you have any tips

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. the Hoover Model # F8515 works on the pull back to pickup the water and on the push forward you can dispense extra water or solution and the brushes will still scrub but on the pull back it dispenses, scrubs and also picks up the water all in one sweep, if not then contact you local vacuum dealer in your area, check the owner’s manual for the trouble shooting guide and or call the Hoover Factory cust serv @ the information listed below.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Won’t **** up water

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
We need more information like the brand name and model number to try to describe why it won’t pick up water, could be a clog, could be that the gasket is shot, the tank may not be sitting the vacuum correctly, and by giving the brand name I can direct you to the correct vacuum cleaner dealer or factory manufacturer so you can get this fixed. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
Thanks, Don – The Vac Man

My dirt devil vacuum won't suck up anything and its brand new!!

Take the vac bag off and turn on the vac , it should blow air out, if not unclogg the hose where the bag connects, also when you check the roller and belt, unclog the flex hose(located inside base near roller assembly) that sucks up the dirt. As long as the motor works fine the rest is just maint.
