Question about Maytag MDE5500AYW Electric Dryer
Did you wire the 4 wires to the 220 properly?

Testimonial: "This answer was helpful and led us in the right direction. Though the instruction given and found said the black and red wires could be attached on either side the dryer ran but did not heat. Our next step was to check the wall socket. The outlet tested fine. However we noticed the black and red wires on the outlet were connected the opposite as what we had connected the cord to the dryer. Once we changed sides on the cord connection and then plugged in the dryer everything worked fine and the dryer heated up."

inside the control panel is a tech sheet that has some diagnostics on it . there is a membrane button test or something to that effect. I suspect that the start/pause button is the problem and you would need to replace the console w/touchpad.about $130-140 new. there are some used ones on ebay.
