SOURCE: vacuum filter

We bought one a couple years ago too, no filters. Now, WalMart carries replacement filters for other vacuums that will fit. Go back to WalMart and pick up the Durabrand CF2006 - it's in an orange box, works like a champ, I think it was around $5. We bought a couple. Great vacuum.

I have an excellent vacuum model C 2006 G & I can not find filters for it. Any help appreciated. Can't seem to finally a company.

Model numbers are very helpful when accompanied with a Manufacturers name- Do you have a manufacturers name? Most all vacuums are made in China unfortunately and distributors by the machine complete in huge quantities but offer no warranty support or replacement parts. I await your reply Nancy

I am trying to find out the size of the filter. The model is C 2006P. It also does not have a brand name, only a D on the side. It takes a cyclone shaped filter

Mellisa, searched the net, very little info. suggest you take vac/filter with you and stop by a vac/repair shop who will be able to see if it matches other models and can set you up with replacement filter.

Best to have the model number of the unit you have.
If you go to this URL: http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/bissell/1622_series_220240v.html
you will be able to find your manual by entering the proper model number in the search area.

Self propel unit broken

This is a farily common repair on this model. What ends up happening is that when someone picks up the vacuum cleaner2_bing.gif by the handle of the machine, which on this model also is the controller for the self-propelled transmission, it places too much strain on the actuator arm of the vacuum2_bing.gif cleaner.

You can do the best to try and not pick up the machine by the handle, but instead using the carrying handle on the back of the vacuum cleaner, this is distribute the weight much better, and even make the machine seem less heavy, and this will also prevent the actuator arm from breaking again in the future.

Now for fixing your vacuum, Please click the link below for an excellent tutorial on how to replace this part;

Filter cleaning

The fact is that the "bagless bandwagon" is powered by some excellent marketing that conceals what is often poor technology. In your case, the filter blocks because it's doing the job that a bag would do in a bagged machine (catching the dust), and then the machine overheats because the flow of cooling air to the motor is restricted. The only solution (for this machine) is to keep buying new filters - the only permanent solution is to buy a different vacuum cleaner. And my advice is to buy one with a bag!
