Removing fabric for washing

I have just bought this second hand. I can't work out how to remove the canopy so that I can take off the fabric for the canopy and bassinet parts to wash them. The instructions say the fabric is washable.

No, I didn't have instructions and couldn't get the material off the main part of the bassinette or canopy. I ended up washing it in the bath with soap and water. Then I rinsed it the same way and put it on the frame to dry. A bit of a challenge at 8 months pregnant, but it came up well.

Thanks for responding. :) I finally was fed up and took a nap. Lol...when I got up I went back to the bassinet and muscled the smaller bar out on one side. Turns out the bar has tiny threads in it so it is a little hard to pop, out. I took the thicker bar off by unscrewing the screws. After I took me side of the thinner canopy bar off I was able to get everything off. :) it's washing now. Hopefully it isn't too much if a challenge to put back on. ;)

Hi I have removed the sun canopy from my maxi cosi cabriofix car seat so that it could be washed but I now cant re-attach, can you please advise? Thanks

Good Afternoon

There are two hoops of elastic at either end of the sun canopy - these hook in behind the knuckles of the bar that goes over the carseat (the carry handle/roll bar). Once you've hooked them in (it is fiddly, but possible) you can then tuck the rest of the fabric in between the plastic at the back of the carseat and the carseat fabric.

If you can't do it, pop it into a local retailer and ask them to give you a hand.

I'm having trouble removing the fabrics to wash,I'm guessing they come off. Does the hood fabric come off too??

Good Evening

The sun canopy is removable from the chassis, but you can't take the fabric out of the framework. You'll need to clean any marks with mild detergent and a sponge, it isn't suitable to put it through the washing machine.
The Zapp seat fabric slides out of the chassis - it's a bit fiddly if you've never done it before, so allow yourself some time to do it. I can't remove the canopy on my graco snug ride car seat to wash it. I'm having trouble separating the two parts to get the material off.

The two plastic pieces clip together inside the fabric of the canopy, but if you push the fabric all the way to one side, you can expose the latch where the two pieces meet. The two pieces are identical, so you can push in on the tab on either piece to separate them. You have to push firmly, but they should separate easily.

Once you've washed the canopy, just thread one of the plastic pieces through the canopy and snap the two back together by sliding them together.

Hope that helps!

Dismantleing canopy

If this is for the Graco Snugride (I have the Windsor model from the Quattro Travel System), this will work:

1. Push the Graco canopy to one side, exposing the plastic support bars that hold the canopy in place.

2. The center of the support is where the canopy comes apart. Using both hands, pull the canopy support
bar apart (as if you were playing tug-of-war). It's best to grab the curved ends and pull HARD (and point it away to the side so that you don't hit your face).

3. Once the support bars are apart, remove the old Graco canopy and slip on the new/freshly washed canopy.

4. Secure the support bars by snapping them shut, and then slide the canopy into place.

Stroller pad cleaning

You can remove the seat pad by unsnapping the two straps on either side of the bottom of the pad (where it covers over the metal frame). Then just thread the buckles through it. As far as the rest of the fabric such as canopy or fabrice sides, no luck. I got this stroller used and wanted to wash it all. I ended up just putting it (minus the removable pad) into my shower and washing it with the shower head. Then I got a Mr. Clean magic eraser and cleaned up the plastic parts. Now it looks so good!

Hope this helps...

Removing Canopy

I don't know what brand you have, but if you look on the inside of the holders for the canopy, there should be a little plastic tab holding the hooked end of the canopy frame in place.  Use a small screwdriver to lift the tab up enough so you can slide the hook out.  Once you have it out, remove the canopy and wash away.

Kolcraft Bassinet

Hello
I too have this bassinet and went looking online for a 'how to' on removing to wash. What I found was the manual, I will post the link below. In the manual it does say that the fabric cannot be removed from the canopy frame.

you have to either turn off your pop up blocker for this manual or hold down "control" when clicking the link for it
