Shut down automaticaly

Not much to go on, "shut down automaticaly" on battery or AC or both? A computer will shut down, or hibernate, if thats what you mean, that's a power setting? If a computer overheats it will shut down automaticaly to save the components from heat damage. If there is dust in the fan and vents it will shut down. If it is not getting sufficent air flow from vents on the bottom of the laptop through the vents on the side. One option is a Laptop Cooler. Is it shutting down when you are on it? When it's left unattended? Respod to this post for further assistance.

Laptop Overheats

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a can of compressed air to do this.

What would cause my aspire 5630 to shut down sporadically?

Shut down sporadically, caused by rising temperatures on the processor (processor overheat). Processor overheat, caused by damage to the processor fan. Processor fan function to reduce the processor temperature.

Possibilities and solutions
1. The possibility of sluggish processor fan. Processor fan spins, with a low speed, so it can not reduce the processor temperature.
Solution: clean the processor fan with a vacuum cleaner, or replace the processor fan.
2. The possibility of fan processor die.
Solution: replace the processor fan.

The characteristics of damage to the processor fan
After the laptop is turned off (more than 1 hour), the laptop can turn on and survive + - 30 minutes. In the period of + - 30 minutes, the laptop died suddenly, because the processor temperature exceeds safe limits (shut down temperature).

How to check
Laptop is turned off (more than 1 hour), then turn on. Download and install software to check the processor temperature. Ex. Real Temp 3.60. See the change in temperature. If the temperature continues to rise, it can certainly cause damage to the processor fan.
- Normal temperature, when first turned on + - 38oC
- Normal temperature, after turn on for hours 40oC - 45oC
- Temperature overheat processor, when first turned on 60oC - 65oC

Toshiba satelite P105 laptop pc problem: overheats and shuts down automatically. while in use. What are the causes of overheating?

Normal 0 When a CPU chip overheats it shuts down (thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this problem is not fixed, then eventually the CPU chip will fail. This fault is either a faulty fan or the fan and heat sink assembly is clogged with dust. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to fix :-

Laptop Compaq Presario F 700 overheats easily and shuts down

When the CPU overheats it shuts down (ie thermal overload) and won't startup until it has cooled down. This problem is caused by faulty fans (with bearing problems and may not spinning at normal speed) or the fan and heatsink assembly is clogged with dust.
Check the vents and fan and vacuum and remove the dust.

If the laptop is not placed on a flat surface there may not be enought air entering the vent on the bottom of the laptop.
To improve ventillation, you can stick rubber pads on the bottom of the laptop to increase the height of the laptop off the table. Better still purchase a laptop fan assisted base and place the laptop on this base, this provides further fan assisted ventillation.

Toshiba A65-S1062 - This laptop overheats and shuts down.

I bet that you had your laptop on all the time.
Your heat sink is saturated with dust and grit.
you may have to open up the unit and use a can of dust remover to clean the fins on the heat sink out. it is causing your CPU to shut down bucause it is becoming overheated.
Happy Fixing =)

Toshiba boots up power light stays on and shuts down, bad m/b ?

I own a Laptop Toshiba Satellite A75-S2131.
This series have a problem with the cooling flow to the processor.
The processor overheats and the laptop shuts down.To solve this particular problem you must tear down the laptop and clean up the processor heatsink (you will find it totally plugged or partially dirty).
Find in the internet the step by step instructions (with photos) for dismantling this laptop. Do not forget to apply thermal paste between processor & heatsink.

I hope this solution helps.
