Question about Whirlpool LSQ9600L Top Load Washer
During the initial filling of the machine, both the hot and cold water fill at a full rate. When it gets to the rinse cycle it takes about 45 minutes to fill. The water barely trickles in. This is followed by no agitating and empties out the water. This occurs in the permanent press cycle. The hose and screen filters are fine. When run in the regular cycle the washing machine works just fine. Would this be corrected by replacing the filling valve and or the dial controller for wash selection.:::::?????
The first thing I would do is remove the hoses from the inlet valve and make sure the screens are not clogged in the valve. On some models the valve will compensate on fill opening both hot and cold. It will not do this on cold rinse. Before ordering any controls check this out first. If it's still the same I tend to believe it's a valve problem. The buzzing you are hearing is the valve. Catriver, post back.

Littleone.. please check your instructions.. some washers now dont need Hot water connection to them...they heat their own as part of the efficiency settings on the wash programmes themselves!

It sounds like you have some buildup in the cold water valve screen. Where the hose connects to the washer there should be a screen inside the valve. Remove the cold water hose from the washer and clear any debri on the valve screen.
If this doesn't fix the slow cold water flow then you will have to replace the whole water valve assembly. The water valve is the piece that the hoses connect too and supply water to the washer.
If you have anymore questions about this please ask. I will be more than happy to help you out.

Sounds like cold water solenoid is not opening all the way, its easy to replace, and is found inside the wash machine where the hose connects

Do you fill the machine with hot water only?
If so, this is what I suspect. The filters in the inlet hoses on the back of the washer need cleaning. Remove the garden hose connectors, remove filter, clean, replace.
When filling with hot only you get a lot of pressure thru one hose. When you rinse, the best you can do pressure-wise is cold rinse -- but the cold water filter is going to be more clogged than the hot so it delivers less water.
When you use warm rinse, you get mediium pressure thru both lines, again less water than al hot on filling the machine.
