Having teens we have had many contacts with water and phones. A guy at TMobile told us to use a hair dryer, diligently for several days being patient, only low low heat. It has saved at least 3 phones and even one iPod that went throught the washer. Just be sure to lower the heat and don't do it for longer that about 10 minutes at one time. I hope this will help. you have nother to loose right? g.l.

Lg vx6100 won't turn on or charge

There may be liquid damage present. First using a flashlight, inspect the battery contacts and data/charging socket for green mold/water damage. If nothing unusual is discovered you could disassemble and inspect the inner circuit boards for white residue that would be left behind from water calcium, clean the calcium from the circuit board with a slightly wet toothbrush and dry with compressed air or a hair dryer.

There could be many problems, but none of them can be solved by troubleshooting.

The two most likely issues are water damage, or a hardware/electrical problem caused by damaged internal components.

To determine if there is water damage, open the back panel and remove the battery. Behind where the battery normally rests, or below it, there will be a small circular sticker. If that sticker is white, then it has not been exposed to moisture. If it is any other color then your phone has water damage.

If you cannot find water damage then your phone is either suffering from a damaged hardware. However, in the off chance that your phone is only suffering from a minor error hold down the power button while the phone is not plugged in and there is no battery inserted for about one minute. Then insert the battery and attempt to turn the phone on.

If this doesn't help your only hope is contact your carrier and see if you can get it replaced.

I dropped my n97 in water immediately removed the battery and dried it as much as poss even left it in a bag of rice for 3 days to absorb any moisture but now my touchscreen won't respond any help would be...

The problem you are having is a common one. All water - even fresh water - contains salt. Salt is an excellent conductor of electricity. Once water comes into contact with the circuit board in your phone, and then dried, salt deposits remain.

The salt (even in minute quantities) begins to move around on your circuit board short circuiting anything it comes into contact with.

Even having your phone professionally cleaned and repaired does not mean that it will remain in good working order for long. You'll just be chasing good money after bad in the long run.

If you carry insurance on your phone with your service provider, I'd make a claim. If not, you should contact your service provider and make arrangements to purchase a new phone. You'll be much happier in the long run.

I have a droid 2 that fell in water it still works but the screen is to dark i have to put under a lamp to see the screen how to fix it to see the screen again.

Hi, what causes the screen to go dark,is because of the water that it fell in. It didn't try properly inside the phone. Water is not friendly with phone, they damage phones so easily.

The water has damaged the tube that makes the light display .

Phone is a little bit complicated, so i would advice you contact a skilled personnel for assistance in replacing the light that was affected by the water.

Thanks for using fixya...

HOW TO REPAIR WATER DAMAGE GT-S5620 BRAND NEW

First of all, do not turn it on, it could cause more damage to your phone. Take out the battery, and completely dry the phone before trying to use again.
Here is the procedure to take out all moisture trapped in the phone: Dry the phone, battery, any accessory, etc. with cloth and wrap each piece, phone and accessories, in newspaper. Place a few handfuls of rice into a plastic bag and then place the wrapped phone in the bag with rice. The newspaper wrapping avoids direct contact of rice with your phone because the dust from the rice can get into the small areas of the phone. The newspaper and rice will absorb moisture. Leave it there (with the bag open) at least 24 hrs. Hope this helps!

My nokia 3110c was immersed in water and refused to turn on, after few month when i trie to switch it on is bring message "contact service" can i get help on this?

Hi,

When a phone falls into water, there things that needs to be done fast in other to prevent damage on the phone because water is not friendly with phones.

Why contact service came up was because the phone was not attended to earlier.

When a phone drops into water, first you need to remove the battery in other to prevent I C in the phone to bridge, depending on the capacity of water that entered into it, some might make the phone start getting hot.

The phone you are using has two option:

servicing the phone,
or
the phone might not stop showing contact service.

When you service the phone, the contact service might go off or might still be displaying the phone.

It is a 50-50 trial, might work or might no work.

Take care and good luck.
