SOURCE: Rockford fosgate 800 a2 amp power?

Hello desperate2le,

Watts delivered is a function of the voltage times the current. If the amp was 100 percent efficient, it would need 33 amps at 12V for 400 watts. At 14.4V, it would only need 28 amps. Of course, amplifiers are NOT 100 percent efficient, only about 50-60 percent in many cases, but somewhat higher for monoblocks, maybe 80-90 percent. So you're looking at a fuse in the 60-80A range. In the absense of a specific fuse size from the manufacturer, I'd start the primary fuse at a 60A and if the amp blows it on power up/immediately/frequently, move up to an 80A.

All of the Rockford-Fosgate 2-channel bridgeables I've ever seen show using the left positive (+) and the right negative (-) for bridging. But if it's not shown right on the amp, I'd call or email RF for the correct connection. The new amps do show it.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: rockford fosgate 3002 thermal light on no sound

Is this powering speakers or subwoofer? If it's the subwoofer you need to make sure the gain is turned up and the sub is set to low pass frequency. Also make sure bass and subwoofer are enabled on the head deck. Make sure the RCA's are hooked up properly at the back of the head deck. If it's the speakers then you may have balance set to front only so your rear speakers aren't making noise.

SOURCE: 401s Rockford Fosgate Amp. Not powering on,just protect lite is on.

the problem is mostly with your audio side of the amp. i have a 800 Rockford punch series amp hooked in series running at about 15 vdc at 2 ohms stable for now. but the amps left front power side transistors overloaded and smoked out, i will be replaceing my mosfets soon. Now on that side your issues apear to be related to the signal side of the amp. when you hooked the amp up tell me breifly did you hook the rca inputs to the back of the sterio and did you select the proper rca inputs for the amp? also note that amps have a potentiomater that can be tuned up or down to allow the volume or wattage to go up or down threw the system. if it's turned all the way down you'll here nothing. but often you'll get a pop sound or quickly see the speaker move a bit. this indicated the signal side of the amp has signal comming in but no output, just look for a turnable small screw inside the amp top or side. and turn up acordingly. note: to much output will damadge your system. not just the amp. ;)

I TAKE IT THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING A SOURCE FOR A PAIR OF ENDCAPS FOR YOUR PUNCH-200IX. IF THIS IS THE CASE, I SUGGEST THAT YOU CHECK EBAY ON A WEEKLY BASIS AS I AM SURE AFTER SOME TIME, YOU WILL SEE A PAIR LISTED. THERE IS ALSO A SELLER ON EBAY THAT HAS MANY OF THE LOGOS FOR THE MANY DIFFERENT MODELS THAT CAN BE PLACED ON ANY OTHER MODEL ENDCAPS FROM THE SAME SERIES (DSM, IX, X2, ETC. LET ME KNOW IF I MISUNDERSTOOD YOUR REQUEST......V

Hi could you tell me ,where can i buy the ROCKFORD FOSGATE parts?

Most electronic parts can be obtained from:

DigiKey.com

Mouser.com

Allied electronics (search for them in google)

Newark electronics (search for them in google)

Realize that SOME manufacturers hide the true part number with so called "house numbers" to mask their design.

Some numbers require educated knowledge to decipher. FOr instance, some transistors you might find might be marked as:

C4065 (Ficticious) this likely would be a 2SC4065... sometimes the 2S is left off...

Hint, when repairing damage, often you MUST use a current limiited power supply to avoid burning out new parts due to one bad one still in the unit.

Rockford Fosgate T15004 The Amp still powers up with the

Check you inputs to verify you have a signal coming in, if signal then check outputs try a speaker that you know is working and plug it in if that speaker plays then the subs/ or speaker wiring is bad, if it doens't play then you probably have a blown output transistor on the amp or possibly a terminal ground/positive has come loose on the inside..

Where is thermistor located on a rockfordfosgate power T10001BD car audio amplifier 2006 model cause it keeps putting my amp into thermal protect alot faster than before

I would not remove the thermistor as it is there for your own protection. Rather take the amplifier in and have it checked. It can be something as simple as a dry or loose joint. Removing the thermistor can result in a total burnout of the output or power supply stage. If not both. Cost are extremely high in repairing RF Amplifiers.

Amp makes loud noise, why?

Make sure its a good ground. Make sure your audio cables running from your radio are not running on the same side as your power cables running to your amp. Sometime that can cause alot of noise in the lines

Rockford T10001bd: Capacitor buzzing

If the top is split open, it has vented electrolyte. This is most commonly caused by more serious problems in an amp. Do the other adjacent caps show any signs of damage?

Is it blowing fuses? Connect a 20 amp fuse in-line with the B+ line of the amp. If it blows the fuse, the amp is drawing excessive current and most likely has more serious damage than the single vented cap.

Wiring

The T10001 can drive a load lower than 4 ohms. Wire the coils of the individual speakers in series to make each speaker 8 ohms. Then wire all 3 speakers in parallel and connect them to the amp. This will give you a 2.6 ohm load.

When amp powers up it makes a buzzing noise-quite loud-

Probably a loose coil or bad ground in the amp itself. Contact www.audiotekx.com, ask for Jason, he can help you and is the best out there. The problem you're having is extremely tricky to rectify, I had an amp with the same problem at it stumped multiple techs, some that had been in the business 35 years, yet Jason got it solved.
