Question about Lexmark X5650 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Printer will not print

I have plugged and unplugged into computer. It still do not print. Do usb cords wear out and what can I do?

If unplugging and re-plugging the printer into your computer doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

1. Please uninstall the printer driver software then restart the computer.

2. Reinstall the printer driver software

Make sure that the "Enable Bidirectional Support" checkbox is checked: Go to "Control Panel"->Printers->Right click on the print Object->Properties under "Ports" tab, enable this check box if not already enabled. If you using vista make sure you do this from an "Admin" account, you may also need to select the "Run as Administrator" option after you right click on the "PrintObject".

It sounds like your printer is to blame. Unplug the device for five minutes and plug it back in. That resets the printer defaults. Try plugging-in another device (ipod) to the USB computer inputs to see if it is functioning correctly. That is to determine which wi-fi device, printer or computer is malfunctioning. Change out the USB cord too. I'm confused by your comment "I can't print from any of my devices".....what other devices are you talking about? Try unplugging everything for five minutes.....computer and peripherals.

Printer offline


You did not specify if printer was formerly working, the model # of the printer, or what version of Windows you are using. All this information is needed for successful troubleshooting. However, the below is general resolution for your problem:

"Offline" means your computer cannot "see" the printer as connected and powered on.

In order of things to try:

1. Turn printer OFF. Unplug USB cord from printer (or other end from computer). Wait at least 30 seconds. Plug USB cord back in. Turn printer back on. Does it still show as "offline" under Start --> Devices & Printers?

2. Try replacing the USB cord (yes, they can and do go bad).

3. Turn printer off. Unplug USB cord.
Under Windows Start --> Printers and Devices:
RIGHT click the Konica printer icon. Select "uninstall" (or "remove device") and follow through until printer is successfully UNinstalled. If there is other Konica software installed, remove it also (via Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs -or- Programs & Features).

4. Reboot your computer. Follow manufacturer printer installation procedure, step-by-step (consult mfr website if you do not have a printed installation manual). Do not plug in USB cord or turn on printer until instructed to do so.

If all else fails:

Ignore any manufacturer installation instructions.
Do # 3 only above.
Reboot computer.
Plug in printer and connect it to computer.
Let Windows try to automatically install it (in most cases, Windows can install the "basic" print drivers, which are smaller and sometimes more stable than the fancy drivers and excess software the manufacturer wants you to install).

If still no go, you probably have a dying or dead printer. Consult manufacturer website for help.

When i try to print a paper a popup comes up and says that my printer is not connected to my computer, I have tried unplugging the power cord and usb cord an restart the computer nothing works


See if you can reinstall the printer. Try deleting the printer in the control panel and then reinstalling it. Also try plugging it into another USB port.

I try to print & my PC print que says "printing" but it also say the printer is offline. How do I get it back on line?


If you printer is USB you should shut down your computer. Next turn off your printer. Unplug the USB cord of the printer. Boot the computer. Turn on the printer power. Plug in the printer USB cord. The computer should find the printer and load the driver. Go to control panel and look for printers. Find your printer. Right click your mouse on your printer and set it as default printer. Now it should work when you try to print to it.

Give this a try:

If there are no jobs in the queue, be certain that your USB cable is snug.

If still a problem and there are jobs in the print queue, go to Printers and Faxes and delete your printer icon.

Disconnect the USB cable.

Restart your computer.

Reconnect the USB to your computer.

Your computer should see your printer. Install the printer driver.

If your computer does not see the printer, probable USB cable problem or possible USB port problem on the PC..

Do the following:

Try a different usb cable.

Plug the cable into a different USB port.

Try disconnecting printer power cable for ten minutes.

Unplug computer power cord for ten minutes and restart.

Reinstall printer drivers.

If that all did not work, test the printer on a different computer, to find out if it is faulty or not.
