SOURCE: Have a new Sony Bravia

Hello,

There is some confusion on the model (KDL-40W500 vs. KDL-40V2500), so I will direct this toward the 40V2500.

On the KDL-40V2500, an 8X blink means the scan processer has gone bad, and the BU board needs to be replaced. If the problem is intermittent, the the AU board might be the problem, but if it all the time, bank on the BU.

A competent repair shop should be able to help you, or you can try calling Sony directly for assitance.

Hope this helps you...

SOURCE: tv bravia kdl 40v3000 problem turning on

Hello,

Unfortunately, this is a failure of the balancer board for the backlight. The unfortunate part is that the balancer is not available by itself anymore, and the whole panel must be replaced, as Sony only has the balancers attached to new panels. You can contact Sony directly to ask for assistance, and it usually helps.

Hope this helps you...

SOURCE: Sony Bravia KDL-40W4500 turns off

This can indicate a problem with the high voltage circuits. Since this is a new set, it should still be under warranty. DO NOT open up the unit as that will void the warranty. Return the set or request warranty service. Note the 8 blinks when you request service as that should allow them to bring the correct replacement parts.

Keep us posted.

Sony Bravia Model KDL-55HX800 lines across the screen?

this is most likely a hardware fault and should be taken to a service center or processed under warranty if applicable.
generally faults of this kind occur in the lcd panel itself and are not repairable without specialist equipment.

I have a sony kdl-32S2000. No Video - screen is black. No sound. Power light is on solid - does not flash - and is green.

Sounds like SCL - SDA line has some short circuit. Contact any service technician. This is not a user repairable work.

Sony bravia screen just stays on black and wont go to picture.

It sounds like a main board failure but could be a power supply issue as well. The set will need to be diagnosed

I have tried to press as many buttons on the remote control and on the side of the TV to get any message but nothing seem to happen. Any suggestions and solutions? Thanks

Sony Bravia 40 inches has a defect

More then likely your power supply failed. If you do not hear a click from the relay during the power up cycle then your power supply failed.
