Question about Epson Perfection 1640SU Flatbed Scanner
1. Warrantys over and it no longer in print...Its driving me nuts, I tried to open it clean lamp on top area.. 3 TIMES ALREADY.. that the yellow line is Showing in that place.. I close it back up test a scan and it still there.. any idea?? 2. How would I clean the CCD/CIS, or mirror thats causing the line, or what can I do, top is unscrewed for now thats all but im ready to open other parts. PS I looked at http://willshak.com/scanner/ and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/scanner2.htm but im still confused by it as thats HP layout not epsons, (I can take a picture of mine Epsons inside if it helps) and so.. Any high pro or a knowledge can help? (Ill try to get this brush) Thanks for the help
Perhaps this: the scanner calibrates itself on a white strip above the place where the lamp is in rest. When there is a spot on that white strip, the scanner wil use the retreived information for the whole scan, resulting in a line on your scan.
