Question about Televison & Video
For the last two days, my television has been skipping through the various video inputs automatically. The delay between switching is anywhere from 10 seconds to immediate. I've checked the input button on the tv and the remote to see if it was stuck. It also has ``rebooted`` itself a few times (tv is on with a green power light, then the power light goes completely off as if there is no power to the tv, then turns red to show it`s off, then green again, and the tv comes back on) Is this a damaged board that can be replaced? I have had the tv for 6 years now and have had no other trouble with it.
Seems like your set now has a poltergeist in it after all these years. If set turns on an doff by itself and works erratically there could be a power supply issue since it supplies the juice for the various areas to do their thing. If PS is messing up, so will other sections of your set.

well the problem sounds like it could be the IR sensor on the tv or somthing in that circut that is failing or the EPROM chip that controls : Vol up/down , Channel up/down , Power on/off ,Menu , Input selection , ect... is failing, thus this will trigger the protection circut to shut the tv down. this kind of a problem only gets worse and can dammage other components if not repaired soon so it will need testing to determine the exact cause

it costs $2.50 to fix its 2 capacitors in the motherboard need to change them very easy i just fixed mine took me an hour all together and less then 3 bucks .if you open the tv look in the middle motherboard and you will see witch capacitors are blown because the top of them is raised up change them and ure done, all the capacitors have a cross scored in the top ,so they dont blowup ,so if you see 1 raised just a little bit its fried change it while ure in there , they wanted $400 to $500 to fix lmao now .

SOURCE: Blinking power light
The TV has developed a fault where the start up procedure cannot be carried out & therefore the TV switches itself back off. You would need to remove the back of the TV & check if there are voltages going to your backlights (24v), are there all the other voltage rails present at start up eg 15v, 5v etc. Check the power supply to see if any of the capacitors are showing signs of stress such as a bulging on the top. If you do not have a multi meter to check voltages or feel comfortable to do this, then it would be best to contact a repair service centre.
