Question about Sharp Audio Players & Recorders
Cd player portion of the boombox does not eject the cd tray which can hold up to three compact discs. Took top off and noticed the motor which turns the tray would not turn on.

SOURCE: Boombox CD player
Hi Could be bad spin motor, but the first thing to try is load the cd and put your ear to the unit and listen for a ticking sound...if there is, then the laser is trying to focus. If not ticking, there is likely a serious problem, and the whole unit should be replaced. If you hear the lense bouncing up and down, then it is likely a dirty lense or bad laser. To clean it, use a cotton swab and wet the end with at least 70% USP rubbing alchohol(99% better). Touch the swab to the lense and a drop should form on the lense, gently move the drop around to loosen any debris, and then use a dry swab and touch it to the lense to absorb the drop. Try the unit, and if it was dirt on the lense, it should work, if not the boombox should probably be replaced. Good Luck!

Alot of cd players, theres a tiny tiny pin hole you can fit maybe a sewing needle, or the end of a paper clip into... do it, and ull probably feel a lil resistance while the internal button is pushed...once u hear like u pressed it, the tray should open.

SOURCE: Turntable won't turn
There is usually a cotter pin at the center of the platter around the spindle base. This can be removed with a screw driver using a twisting motion. There is a blades worth of space between the clip and the spindle base. Screw driver should be in vertical position. Sometimes the vinyl slip mat must be removed first. Watch that clip, cause it can go flyin. Once the clip is removed, the turntable should let go easily.
