Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: lamp replacement
To reset the lamp timer, press the RESET button on the projector or MENU button on the
remote while the amp hours are displayed. The lamp hour reset message will display. Use the
left-arrow button on the remote control or the Menu diskpad of the projector to select 0, and wait
until the timer display has cleared.
This is from the MP7640 Manual

SOURCE: just replaced vt700 lamp. projector still
Try the old lamp again and reset again and see if that works. When you originally replaced the lamp did it give you a warning that replacement was required or did it just stop? I haven't worked on that model before but you may require a new Ballast (power supply ) that runs the lamp (technician job usually)

SOURCE: EPSON ELP5000 bought from surplus; plug it in and
It is an indication that the projector is in sleep mode. Press power button and check for any changes on the led indicators. If the power turns red, it means unit is hot. check if the fan is working and if the air filter is clean or needs cleaning. If the lamp turns red it means the lamp is busted, You will experience this since lamp is clearly blown. But if both lights are red, it means that the unit is busted and will require service.
