MG = milligram = 1/1000 of the gram

Sep 19, 2015 | Office Equipment & Supplies

it is 10% of (20mg)/q, where q is the density of 20 mg. Simple, if 20mg is water then is q=g/cm^3. It follows tha(((20/1000)/1)/1000)*10%. That is 10% of 20mg (water!!!)* in ml.

1=10^0

10=10^1

100 (2 zeroes after the 1)=1x10^2

1000 (3 zeroes after the 1)=1x 0^3

1000 000 (one million) =1x10^6

1 billion =1 000 000 000 =1x10^9

100 billions =100x 1000 000 000=(1x10^2)x(1x10^9)=

1x(10^2)x(10^9)

Now use the power multiplication rule**(a^n)x[a^m)=a^(m+n)**. Thus

1x(10^2)x(10^9)=1x10^(2+9)=1x10^(11)

**100 billions =1x10^11=10^11**.

You have got to try to remember (or learn) the prefixes used in physical units. Milli means 1/1000 or 10^-3. Kilo means 1000, or 10^3. To convert from mm to meters you have to divide by 1000 because a mm is a 1000 time smaller than a millimeter and 1 mm is 0.001 m or 10^-3 m.

To go from 1 m to 1 kilometer you have to divide again by 1000. So 1 m=10^-3 km=1 km/1000

I leave it to you to figure out how to go from mm to km. It is not difficult and you have got to learn a bit by doing your homework.

Use these two equalities

1 mm = 0.001 m

1 m = 0.001 km

So 15.9 mm =

It depends on how you "count" -- 40 times 1000 times 1000 times 1000 is approximately equal to 38.202 times 1024 times 1024 times 1024.

Note that 2**10 is 1024, while 10**3 is 1000.

So, (1024/1000)**3 is approximately equal to 40(.000/38.202).

Hello,

The scientific prefixes are

1L = 1000 mL

It is instructive to learn the meaning of these prefixes, because they always mean the same thing, regardless of the units you are dealing with.

Ex: The population of the Earth is about 6 Gigapersons (It does not exists, but it illustrates the principle. I hope you win a jackpot of 10 megadollars. (M$)

Hope it helps.

The scientific prefixes are

- Giga = 1 billion ( times 1 000 000 000)
- Mega = 1 million (times 1 000 000)
- Kilo = 1 thousand (times 1000)
- deca = 10 (times 10)
- deci = one tenth ( divided by 10) or multiply by 0.1
- centi = one hyndredth (divide by 100) or multiply by 0.01.
- milli = one thousandth (divide by 1000) or multiply by 0.001
- micro = one millionth (divide by 1 000 000) or multiply by 0.000 001
- nano = one billionth (divide by 1 000 000 000) or multiply by 0.000 000 001

1L = 1000 mL

use the 'EE' key, for example:

3 x 10^3 is 3 'EE' 3 '=' (you should get 3000)

1000 x 10^-2 is 1000 'EE' 2 '+/-' '=' (you should get 10)

3 x 10^3 is 3 'EE' 3 '=' (you should get 3000)

1000 x 10^-2 is 1000 'EE' 2 '+/-' '=' (you should get 10)
