Water dispenser quit working a few days ago. It happened once before (2 years ago) and I googled and found a "simple" fix that worked. It was not the valve or the electrical system as many previous posts said. I took of cover and fixed it. Now, I can't remember what it was and I can't find the post! Any ideas? Ice works Lights work just no water.
When the dual water control valve is worn out they tend to buzz, hum and sometimes melt plastic housing around coil. Some even have the plunger stuck inside. Best thing to do is replace. I was not able to find a model KRA22ILBL00 in the US database but if that is your model number I would replace the water control valve, Thanks Sea Breeze

usually when i get a kitchen side by side i trouble shoot the wtr valve first by using a cheat cord that applying volatge directly to the vlave to see if it opens but usually the wire harnes under frezeer breaks the wires so my money is on the wires under the frezerr door cut the sleve off and chec the wires one by one the one to the water is broken

Hello , I can help , If water is coming out of the tube in the door the only problem you could have is the water inlet valve not sealing all the way causing water to seep out and leak, this is normal to happen over time and the only way to fix it without turning your water off to the unit is to replace the water inlet valve , it is not extremly difficult and will cost about 50 dollars. it is the part that you connect your water line to in the lower rear of the unit. This should get you going if you have any questions just ask. tell me how it works out.

I believe I'm getting electricity to the valve. I hear a hum when I depress the water dispenser and can feel it when I hold the solenoid while someone else does it..
I ordered a valve assembly. I think when this happened B$ someone pushed too hard and knocked the lever off which I was able to fix easily. This time I think its the valve. I'll post more when I change it. Thanks for the replies
I ordered a replacement valve from applianceparts.com
They sent the wrong one and were very good about exchanging it.
.
They then sent the "correct" one. It looked the same but with quick connects instead of the threaded hookups. That's fine. So I followed instructions and cut the water line.
When I tried to put the lines in they didn't fit! Great. Its Saturday and I'm screewed.
After spending all afternoon finding and making a plumbing apparatus to join the dissimilar lines I turned the water on and it leaked.
Not from my hookups mind you but from the unused hookup on the valve.( the old one also has this additional hookup but obviously it didn't leak).
Great. I spent all day with this and its now worse then it was. This fridge was made in 2004 and I sent them the model # and they don't have the right part?!!!
I'm done. Kitchenaid and applianceparts.com can kiss my nether region.
