Question about Safety 1st Baby Gear
The harness should never be removed from the carseat shell due to the safety implications of it being incorrectly re-fitted. The product would need to be sent to the engineers for them to re-fit the harness. What country are you in we can direct you to the appropriate customer care team to make arrangements for this?

the center of the belt will be under the seat coming up through the holes, place the two clips on the strap followed by the chest clip, then the neck protector pads. Push the ends of the strap through the two top holes. Route it down over the metal but under the plastic (on the back side) and attach both ends to the metal adjuster underneath. The receiver clip, you just turn 90 degrees and push through desired hole until the end catches.

SOURCE: straps back on after washing
I am dealing with the same problem. After looking at product photos, it appears all harness straps go out from the back of the pad thru the same opening. This is not fun. I would not buy this again. :-(
