Question about Amana Heating & Cooling
As a general rule the lemon law does not effect acs. because the equipment colud be at fault, or the installer couild be at fault , or the installation or application coiuld be at fault, or the power company could be at fault or the ductwork inadquete or undersized? so there are so many variables that a new ac may not fix your problem so they rarely ever provide new.now lets discuss your insatller or dealer. why are they saying the rev valve is bad? let me say covs Changeover valves usually do one of three things. they stick in cool and wont shift so youare stuck in cool or sruck in heat. when energized you hear no kawhoosh sound and compressor doesnt change pitch. then they are stuck in heat or cool. what they do sometimes is stick halfway and that gives a coolish suction and a coolish line to the house but not real cold. the hot gas line is only warm and the discharge line is onlty warm. this means its stuck halfway. some times you can disconnect the fan run the pressures way up and gently tap the valve and it will free up. but it nay stick agagin. the valves in the compressor may also be weak and be misdiagnosed as as half stuck covalve.. you could close off the liquid line and see if the compressor cah pump down to zero . if it can't then compressor maY BE BAD .when the unit was installed did they put in a liquidline drier to collect impurities and protect the valve? its pretty unusual to see a valve fail and if to much heat is applied on replacement then new valve can be damaged. good luck , oh you have the option of requesting a different dealer if it is brand name like trane or american std with a parts and labor warranty. most dealers can honor the other guys warranty and get paid by the factory if you have lost confidence in your guy. i am sure you know right away if you got a budget jack leg job or a pro . good luck.

We have a bryant ac installed new in June 2007 - recently, it was not working/ cooling properly. When the service tech came out, he said the coolant leaked out and he had to recharge it w/ a dyed coolant and will come back and check it with a black light. Our cocnern is that we asked how would it leak and he said it could be caused by corrosion from hairspray or cleaning supplie sor dryer sheet that get in the air and into the coil???? Does this sound crazy? We just wanted to know if it was a possible defect that could be covered under warranty? It ia a bryant model 113A - any info about any issues or concerns??
