My pdp r03u has an error code e01 - Projection Televisions

I have the same problem. I had an authorized service center check it out in-home and all they could do was tighten the cable connections. That worked for a few weeks and then the problem returned. I called Pioneer and they said the R03U could only be serviced at the factory and they have a flat fee of $500. There has to be a better way.

Mine just started the same thing in the last few weeks. It's a Pioneer PDP-R03U 43" display that I've had for a little over 6 years.

Recently, it started to not display the inputs on the screen (like showing the feeds from TV, Input 1, 2 and so on and just giving a blank screen. Within another minute or two, it shows a message that just says E01 (in red, in the middle of the screen) and then shuts itself off.

Very expensive display and I am very disappointed to be having this kind of issue.

I've checked the cables, but I will recheck. It just does not seem worth it any more to get electronics fixed (cost/benefit ratio as opposed to buying a new replacement (with an extra cheap unit- they are giving them away these days...).

For the record, I expect about 10 years use out of a TV (and I don't think that's too much too expect).

Any thoughts on making this unit work?

I have a 50" Unit with this same part, I called Pioneer and told them what was happening, they asked me to count the flashes on the monitor power indicater light and when I told them the problem they told me that it was a dry solder weld, I called a tv repair tech and told him what was going on, he had never worked on Plasma Tv's and was very hesitant to start I told him if I just brought in the Media Box and had him check the solder joints how much would he charge he told me to try he wouldnt charge me anything, I jumped on that! he saw a few issues and fixed them, I brought the unit home plugged it into the tv and the tv works just fine!

When you turn it on it might go on then turn off or it might not go on at all the power light blinks won't shut off unless you unplug the TV.j

The blinking LED is the Fault code for your set. Its shutting itself down into protection mode to stop from further damaging itself. Kinda like a fail safety. My fix instruction differ for rear projection than that of PDP or LCD but its the same. Just a dif set up inside the set.

My daughter has smashed the screen on my Panasonic PDP-4270XD Plasma TV. How much would it cost to repair?

Sorry to say, you can replace the entire TV cheaper than a new plasma panel as they run about 2000.00
