Issue with the HDMI Input

Hello. I have a Mitsubishi HD1000 DLP Projector that has an issue with the HDMI port. It has been working like a charm and I was very happy with the device, but suddenly, one day I tried to watch a movie in the normal conditions in my salon and the HDMI port didn't received any signal (I have been using it in this setup almost more than 2 years). All the rest of the functions (menus, and others ports like VGA) worked ok. Yesterday I tested another HDMI High Grade wealthy cable without success. But the strangest thing was when I tried another computer and partially it worked with 2 different HDMI cables but green color is not displayed anyway, then the picture looks like magenta. I tried a color pattern and in fact, green is shown like black. If I put again the computer that I usually used for movies, it doesn't display anything except "No Signal". Also I have opened the device and tested continuity from one extreme of the HDMI Cable to the pins soldered to the mainboard of the projector and it looks like all the 19 pins have continuity -but maybe one of them has some losses-. Resuming: - With the computer I usually used, suddenly it stopped to receive any signal with 2 different cables - With another computer, both cables shows the same behavior: the image is displayed with the exception of green (of course, sending a RGB pixel) - Could be the cables, but is too estrange that both have the same issue Anybody could help me? I am a little desperated with this issue :-( Thank you very much :-)

If anybody could send information about the motherboard inside the device, maybe we could test some components.

I guess that some resistance or transistor could be damaged where the HDMI cable get into the board, where the balanced TMDS signals are converted to the board signals or something like that because the projector works fine with the other inputs except with the HDMI one.
    Thanks :-)

Your problem is in the streaming player. It is not keeping up and when an HDMI loses connection it will not auto find it again. To verify this take the Panasonic out of the loop and see if this fixes it. I love HDMI but it is touchy

I think that its a port issue, if all the other ports are working but hdmi is not then one of the pin on the circuit board may have come loose. I have the same issue. Could try to solder it back on or use a glue gun. let me know if this helps?

Hdmi input issue - screen goes black after 20 minutes of use

Could be a defective HDMI processor word of warning to everyone never under any circumstances must you connect up any device with HDMI ability whilst they are switched on as static can and indeed does smack out the HDMI processor and can and does work out expensive in time to replace.

I just got a new Optoma HD20 and only after 1day of use it is not showing HDMI signal, although it is showing VGA signal. Why is this?

Hi miracles4all: I solved HDMI signal issue in my Optoma HD20. In my case it was the lack of contact between the HDMI cable plug male ending and the Optoma HD20 HDMI female port. My 35ft cable plug male HDMI ending was not completely "seating" in the Optoma HD20 HDMI female port. I solved the problem by purchasing a HDMI female to female coupler and adding a 3ft HDMI cable that had a slim male ending. This 3ft HDMI extension cable made better contact to the Optoma HDMI port and the projector was immediately able to detect HDMI signal. Hope this helps you... kaufmanekpr

Projector was working perfectly...suddenly started a constant flickering. Images/text still visible but annoying.

This is most likely a signal issue. Check to see if the issue manifests in all video modes or only in one. If using a computer, look at the analog or DVI video cable for broken or bent pins. More than likely, you'll find the issue is only there when in PC mode, a VCR input works fine.

If this is not the case, then the main board is damaged and you will need to try moving the input to another port. S-Video, RCA cable, or PC2.

Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.
