SOURCE: oven control board 7021-0625

The oven model is an Australian Westinghouse PAD630TF. Westinghouse Australia used to offer an exchange repair service but no longer do so. The oven is about 20 years old, and in very good condition apart from this control board failure.

SOURCE: Have a GE Hood micro

You have a failed membrane keypad.

On this model, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself job.

It is part number WB56X10824 and you can order it here for $124.12.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

At our Web site ,we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame. Be careful - the display is made of glass.

How to fix key pad on ge convection oven jvm1790bk. Pad stopped working

The control panel is actually 2 different parts and either could be bad. Do you have the display still lighting up or is it completely dead? If it is out it could the main smart board. If it still lights but no buttons work then it could still be the smart board or just the key pads which are a separate part. Neither part can be fixed just replaced.

Unfortunately it appears none of these parts are avail anymore. The physical buttons, key panel assy, touch pad support are no longer available. The smart board (WB27X5239) seems to floating around, but this does not appear to contain either of the 2 buttons or switches as part of it's assembly. Pleazer Appliance..

Vent button will not start fan, but boost button will (only on a very high speed.) Seems there's an overheating problem with these GE Cafe microwaves. Is there a retrofit kit available?

It may be a bad fan button or a problem on the circuit board. The latter is actually cheaper to fix.

If you recently had trouble with your cooktop lights, the fan trouble is probably due to that. It's a failure on the smart board which we regularly repair with our $39.95 service. Details are here.

If it's a broken button, and yours is a CVM2070-series model, GE sadly does not make separate parts available, so you would have to order a new "control panel subassembly".

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Jvm1190 over range micro/convection oven

If the hood vent exhaust fan came on by itself, that was due to excessive heat on stove top, a failure of the hood TCO (thermal cutout / thermostat) or a problem on the control circuit board (smart board) which we regularly repair for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

d:%5cele%5crepair%5cmicrowave%5cge_hotpoint%5cmini_manual_behind_grille_small.jpgdee77f7.jpg

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

In this model, there are three TCOs which could be open, rendering the oven dead: The bottom TCO (not to be confused with the hood TCO, which should be normally open) the heater TCO and the magnetron TCO.

Also, the fuse should be checked in the unit.

Accessing some components for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

After you look into this, if you still need help, please write back with more details.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help or see our Web site.

Most likely problem is your Smart card has fried. Its located on the removable panel that your display is attached to.If you remove the screws that open this Clock Panel (un plugged from power first) the display panel will swing down and you will see the circuit board I mention (Smart card/control board ).Look for a visible burn on this board. If you see one ,replace the board. Hotpoint Model #RVM1425WA004

This uses a vacuum fluorescent display. Over time, they degrade in brightness until they're unreadable. GE does not make just that part available, so the whole "smart board" would have to be replaced. It's not too hard for a do-it-yourselfer but certain important safety rules must be followed, such as in "safety.txt" and "disassembly.txt" available at my Web site. You can order the smart board from Appliance Parts Pros for $149.16 at http://tinyurl.com/gv383
