Hello
To verify if it's a screen or motherboard problem you need to connect an external monitor to the laptop ,can you hear the laptop enter windows by hearing the welcome sounds if so then its a screen problem.
otherwise the motherboard has to be replaced.

Good Luck

Set the time and date in the bios on toshiba mod 2400-s201

Setting the Date and Time in the BIOS should be on the first tab, when you access the BIOS from boot screen.

Otherwise, use Windows to set the date and time, by clicking on the clock in the lower right corner of the screen.

I get a black screen when I turn on my Toshiba Satellite M45-S265 it says press F1 I do then it says put in the date then I do then I press all the buttons on the keyboad and nothing works it stays all...

it is stuck in bios mode. make sure that your harddisk is not faulty because this can cause it not to detect the OS and load. while in that black mode, try to enter setup and see if you harddisk is being detected.

Try updating the BIO via http://support.toshiba.co, there have been a few issues on the Satellite's with the system going into monitor blank power standby when it's not supposed to.

Toshiba laptop 2 years old, the screen is black. The laptop turns on but get no screen.

You can try connecting an external monitor and if you can get to the CMOS/BIOS you can verify that the active screen is your laptop screen. If everything is OK on the BIOS, then probably your laptop screen is broken. To enter the Bios use F2 or F10 (depending on model) when booting.

Somebody got into the bios and entered either a hard drive or a bios password. You will have to know which one it is.
