Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies

I would be interested in knowing the model number of the Casio calculator that can do prime factorization. I know and own several Casios (scientific and graphing) calculators and I have not found one that does it. Some graphing calculators are able to perform the factorization with the help of an additional program.

Hi there,

On your Sharp EL-W535 press MODE and choose 1 for STAT. Press 1 for line (linear regression). You should see a table with three columns (x, y and Freq). Type in all your x values (press value =), then use your arrow keys to direct the blue block / cursor back to the top of the y-column. Type in all the y-values. Once you have finished inputting your data, press CHANGE.

To find the regression equation press ALPHA open bracket and equal. This will give you the y-intercept.

Press ALPHA and the close bracket button and equals. This will give you the gradient. You can also interpolate / extrapolate. Type in your x value press 2ndF and close bracket button, this will give you the y-value at x.

You can do the same to find x but use the open bracket button instead.

Visit www.mathsatsharp.co.za for more information and a full user friendly manual :)

F is for floating decimal. If you do a calculation, it will present the results without rounding. For example, 1/2 would be displayed as 0.5, whereas 1/8 would be displayed as 0.125.

The 5/4 rounds the results. For example, if the number of decimals is set to 0, 1/2 is 1. Similarly, if the number of decimals is set to 2, 1/8 is 1.3.

Good luck,

Paul

It depends on the base of the power function.

**For exponential function** use [SHIFT][LN] (e^x) followed by the exponent value. If exponent is negative use the change sign +/- key before exponent.

For a**general power**, type in the base (number), then press the [Y^x] key followed by the exponent.

For a**power of 10,** use the [Exp] key. Careful here. For example to enter 1.6x10^(-19), type in 1.6, press the [Exp] key, then the change sign key +/- and the exponent. Press [=]

**1 . 6 [Exp] +/- 19 [=]**

I don't know about this specific calculator, but there is probably a button on your calculator that has a "y" with an "x" as a superscript (exponent). Or is could be reversed. But you wanted 2^8, you would push the 2 first, then the exponent button, then the 8, and there's your answer.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Are you serious?

No calculator purchase should be solely based on such a trivial matter.

But if you are looking for a very good scientific calculator, I would suggest the new Write View EL-W506/W516/W546 calculators by Sharp, or the FX-115ES/991ES Natural Display by Casio.

With these calculators you can see what you enter displayed as in textbooks. Naturally, they all do coordinates conversions from Polar to Rectangular and from Rectangular to Polar.
