Question about HP dc5700 PC Desktop

1 Answer

2 red lights, despite renewing the battery.

My pc is only 6 months old. I first had this problem a couple of weeks ago, changed the battery, then message 163, so I reset time and date, then OK. Then it happened again two days ago, changed battery again just in case it was a dud, then it happened this morning, then again this evening. It always seems to happen when I am out of the room (possibly when it is hibernating). Have checked that the fan at the back is working, when I took the side off. There is another fan that I can just see working through the front grille. Any advice?

Thank you Joe Boss, but I can't imagine that it is the battery - I've changed it twice (the last one was sent directly from HP). Unless there is another battery in the pc that I may have missed.

Thanks again Joe Boss. Things have happened since posting the problem. I reported it to HP three days ago, not expecting much help, but lo and behold a technician came yesterday and changed the motherboard (for free, under warranty). So far so good. Many thanks Fixya for your help - I will let you know if I have any more problems.

Sounds like the cmos battery may be bad you can get them at walmart < $10.00 looks like a thin coin on the motherboard that is what holds the setting date time etc when powered of or hibernating.

Do you still have the old battery. If so charge it, and see if it charges properly. If so then you have a bad battery.

Try recovering the password to your old email account. There should be a "Need help?" or "Can't access your account?" or some similar link on the sign-in page.

Battery indicator

You can safely ignore this problem.I thought I needed a new battery but was informed that if you use on battery until it shows under 80% the light will turn blue again when charging on mains power and it will recharge to 100% despite the laptop message telling you that you should consider a new battery. That was 6 months ago and the battery is still going strong!

How and where can i renew my paaport and how long will it take

I just did this a few months ago. it was fairly easy, just call your local post office and ask when their passport hours are, and visit during those hours. bring your old passport and whatever other materials they need (birth certificate, drivers license, social security card) There will be a large fee (mine was around 150) and then shipping and processing usually takes 4 to 8 weeks(mine was 6)

Replace the battery. Does not matter watch is just 6 months old - battery was fitted long before you bought it.

Canon A460 problem

I have a Canon A460 and the only red light I know of is the auto-focus light. If it's a low battery you'll see the indicator on the screen, not a light.

Not able to charge battery

This happened to me also. In the manual it says the flashing light means that the battery/charger needs to be cleaned, or if that doesn't work, it is dead. My husband called customer service and they actually sent us a new battery which we recieved within a few days. The number is 1 800 706 2534.
