My JVC TV (Model Number: LT-23C50BJ/wide LCD Panel TV) which I purchased 15months ago stopped working. Specifically, I turned it on then shortly thereafter, it went off. I heard a popping sound like when a bulb goes out. There was also a funny little smell. With that, does anyone has any ideas on what might have happened? Also how to repair? As this TV is relatively new, somewhat surprised. More importantly, I have no idea how to fix or what the possible repair charges would be. HELP!!

I have had the same problem with another JVC television and I now seemed to have established that there is an internal fuse which has blown. I have removed the back panel and got the fuse out. It looks as though it has blown but I have now asked on here for a specification of that fuse. Assuming you have checked the fuse in the plug, I would see if you can locate another one internally by removing the back panel (be careful not to touch any of the metalwork - just in case !)
1 if this new ordere it is exacly the same that should work when i say exacly that must have only the same button on it
2 you should try to take off the cover to that old remonte and try to clean the taste and then the change battery clean suport to battery wash your rubber taste and put all togheder and should work if that not hapened the problem it is from inside tv
and to that new one see if you have a shift buttun on it and push that or push tv button and try again should work
