Check display properties and make sure color depth is set to highest.

Reset colors with IE back to defaults.

I pushed something got to somewhere changed screen color. Internet color black background ghostlike pictures hair and stuff white now I want it back the way can't find it can anyone tell me where to find...

Sounds like you turned on the High Contrast setting in the Ease of Access section.

You can try and use the default key shortcut to deactivate it left ALT + left SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN.

Or navigate to the Ease of Access section through the control panel. Open control panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Set Up High Contrast > (try) Choose a High Contrast Theme

Let me know if that helps

Are you stuck in this window for a very long time???

I came across this problemafter I install my Windows 7 on my notebook. I am so excited to get ahold of my windows 7 at that time and then I sense something is notright. When I log-in to my account, I noticed that the loading takes around 20 seconds. I was not convinced that this is a hardware issue because I have all the drivers installed.

As I was surfing the internet, I saw a theme for Windows 7. I install it just to try it then suddenly when I tried to restart, I noticed that the login time speed up drastically. So I surf the internet why does this happen and come up with an answerthat the login problem in Windows 7 is cause by the Desktop Background.

How to fix Windows 7 slow login / start up:

The solution is you have to change you desktop background from a "Solid Color" to any background that you like. If you really like a solid color background, you can do a workaround by creating a solid color image using Paint or Photoshop then set it as a Desktop Backgound. I don't know what is the connection of it but this solution really works. ^^

Hope that this solution help you.

In case using windows XP, right click on the empty space in the desktop and select Properties, Display Properties shall open up. Go to Appearance tab and click on the Advanced button. In the Item dropdown box select Window and make sure that color 1 is selected as White and Color 2 as Black.

My laptop will not display website background colors. Every background is white. Even if I select "use windows backgrounds" on internet options.

Try a hard refresh.

Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R

Also Shift+Reload Button seems to work in Firefox

A hard refresh bypasses the cached version of the page your browser has stored, and allows the page to load as it is on the server.

A normal refresh basically checks if there is a newer version of the page available if not just reloads the cached content that it has stored.

Sometimes things just don't get cached right.

Windows xp color problems

If you have a video card mounted in a PCI or AGP slot, take that out, blast the slot and the connector on the video card with compressed air, and put it back in.
If you're using motherboard-integrated graphics, do the same thing as above to all of your memory (RAM) modules. Also run memtest86 from a bootable floppy or CD. If it comes up with even just one error, you'll need to replace some RAM. Integrated graphics use system RAM as video memory, so faulty memory can cause the display 'artifacts'.

White background

Well, first thing would be to turn off screen saver. Right click on the screen anywhere, go to properties, screensaver, from the pull down check none, apply and close. May need to reboot. then let's see if it's a screensaver problem. Good luck
