SOURCE: unable to write to file

I had this same problem and went to www.epson.com/support for help. Basically, the problem was fixed by downloading new free epson scan driver software. I suggest you go there for the details.

SOURCE: Negative Scanning Problem Using Epson Scan Software

Make sure the rectangular slots at either end of the film frame are not obstructed or covered in any way. When I attempted to scan color negatives I had the same darkness problem in the scanned image. When I cleared those rectangular slots, everything was fine. I hope this helps.

I have lost my "FILE", "SAVE AS", etc. toolbar

U clicked it off somehow. If you cannot undo what you did you might try just reinstalling the software and hope that it goes in and restores defaults. If not save your stuff noting where it was, uninstall and reinstall the software and put back what you saved.

Why have my Picasa files disappeared? I imported 460 pics last night and can't find them or any of the other files. Picasa keeps compressing files.

Picasa saves all the files to the hard drive. You can have many locations for pictures. It is possible the pictures are stored in a directory that is not being scanned continuously by Picasa. Since the files are on the hard drive, even the Picasa data for edits to the pictures are saved to the hard drive. So you could un-install the program and not lose the picture. You might lose the setup for what directories the program looks at. You can see the folders it uses to make the on screen thumbnails. Go to TOOLS -> FOLDER MANAGER. This is where you define the folders for Picasa.

If you imported the pictures from a camera using the import tool, the directory you specified is where the pictures are now. You also had the option to delete imported pictures, or not. If you try to IMPORT again from the main screen, look to the bottom left for the IMPORT TO: drop down and see where it is defaulting. Make sure that directory is being scanned in the folder manager.

Post again if this didn't help and add more information. As to where you were importing from and to. If the pictures still exist on the source, etc.

After scanning on MFC5460cn, can't email

First you need to save your scanned image as a file on your computer. Chances are the image has been saved to a default folder or directory, but I always put the file where I want it with a name that means something to me. After you've saved the file, then send it as an attachment in your email.

I want to make a scan and send this to my laptop. the hp gives me only 2 options, scan and print or scanand save which is not possible i am connected with an usb

Use scan and save, take note of the filename you use to save it and the directory into which you saved it. Then go to the directory and copy it to where ever you want.

Good luck & God bless!

I have an Olympus, stylus 1030 SW camera.I saved some of my pictures to "My Favorites" then deleted them off my card. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer the my pictures back on to the...

If I have understood this correctly then you only saved shortcuts to the pictures in which case you have lost the pictures. There is a chance of recovering them with software BUT DON'T CONTINUE TO USE THE CARD, as you will lessen the chance of any recovery. Take the card out of the camera and place in card reader. Then use software from http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm to scan the card and recover what you can.Make the save directory a folder on your hard drive and NOT the card.
(If I am incorrect and you actually copied the pictures to your computer then I apologise for alarming you. In that case if you have then it is just a matter of navigating to the directory they are saved in on the PC, copying them (right click copy) and pasting them back into the directory on the card that stores the pictures, DCIM/olympus etc-just click through the directories till you find the pix.)

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

When it take picutes, it saves each one in a new

You could get a card reader and select all the contents of the card and move them all at once. After that, you could format the card in the camera which might solve the problem. You could also go into the camera menu and find "reset"....that would set the camera back to factory defaults.

The default 'save' directory for Livecam is fixed as: My Documents\My Pictures\LIvecam Files on C: drive.
However, you CAN change the location of My Documents e.g. put it on D: drive. See the MS Knowledge base for how to do this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147
