SOURCE: Internal memory to sd card

I don't know your camera; but... Before we assume anything about your camera we should check that SD card in another SD device that we know is working. your camera should default to the SD Card like most devices, which are able to use both simultaneously. It seems likely that something might have happened to the SD card if that is the only one you have tried in your camera. food for thought

SOURCE: Doesn't acknowledge memory card?

I suspect your memory card is damaged. If it is new, return it. If you can find a computer or printer with a slot for that type of memory card, see if the computer recognizes it. You may be able to repair it by using the computer to format the card. Usually you right click on the card's icon in My Computer and choose to format. This erases everything on the card and makes it ready for use.

SOURCE: Saving pictures

The camera has a very limited storage space on itself. It probably isnt saving the pictures on the card because the card is write protected (probably on accident)
just pull out the card and on it is a tiny little switch. just push that into the next position and it is no longer write protected. the write protection is there to prevent you from losing your photos, to put more photos on it you will have to deactive the protection with that switch, its usually white colored

SOURCE: move pictures saved in camera to card

Best thing to do is upload them to your computer. The camera does not allow you to move from camera memory to card.

File error appears on screen when viewing pkotos

can have different causes. To many pictures on the memory card card is full. From the last picture file name ends with 999 or 9999.
Or there was an error while writing a picture to the memory card, caused by a power failure.
I would put the card in an external memory card reader and try to put all pictures in a folder on the computer. Then format the card FAT 32 or FAT 16 and then put it back in the camera. When switched on, first format the card again, in the camera, to make sure the camera can work with the card and the format.
Success.

Why am I getting am "Image Database File error" on my camera? I push enter and then I get an "Image Database File recovery failed". Can still take and save pictures but can not record videos do to problem.

Hi Linda,

If you get into the practice of FORMATING the memory card IN THE CAMERA after transferring the images and videos to your computer, many file related errors will go away. Formatting provides a "fresh start" for the camera to work with the memory card. Some older Sony cameras worked with optical media (CD / DVD), if this is the case for you, you may just have a bad disk. Insert a high quality disc as recommended by the camera and you should be good again.

My memory card keeps saying error what is the matter

- First identify the type of card, some memory card has lock or adapter. - Second, check the condition of the card.
  • Locked switch position
  • Visible discolorations or defects such as crack or nick in the card
  • Missing contacts at the end of the card
  • Deep scratches in the card contacts
  • Heat discoloration on the card
- Next, sure that the file format of the picture is supported by your printer - Then, try to save the file on your computer (If the computer can't read the memory card, the card might be causing the problem, you might contact the manufacturer of the card or replace the card) - If you successfully save the file on the computer, try other device like camera etc. - Format the memory card and try to capture an image and check if the file is corrupted or not. - If an error 'Unsupported Image File' appears, the memory is defective. try replacing the card or contact the manufacturer for further troubleshooting. - If the image displays properly, reinsert the memory to the printer. If the same error appears again, try using another memory card. - If the new memory card has the same issue try the steps provided above. And if the same error appears again after doing the steps call HP support to service your printer.

What do I do when screen says file error

file error appear on the camera because of corrupted file or virus attached in the pictures due to incomplete saving or virus attached on mmc upon conncting to the pc. "dont panic". the first thing to do is back up your pictures to your desktop or laptop. then the next thing was format the memory card. After reformatted insert the mmc to the camera then take atleast 15 pictures and try to preview it.

If same problem occured, try to contacted the service center near you.

hope it will help..

After removing the memory sd from the cam it can't be viewed on the computer. Files only appears as shortcut

When you plug your memory card in to your computer, do you see a new drive icon appear in your My Computer window? ...or, does a wizard pop up asking you if you want to copy files to your computer?

When you say that the files appear as shortcuts, do you mean that when you go in to the DCIM folder on your memory card where your pictures should be, you see a whole bunch of shortcuts with names similar to what your pictures file names usually are, or do you mean that the icon that you normally use to open the memory card is a shortcut?

If you right-click on one of the shortcuts, and click properties, where does the shortcut point to?

I have a samsung digimax d53 and everything about it works except when i lpug the cord into my computer to import pictures(like i've done many time before without an issue)it won't work it just says...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as PIcasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Unrecognizable file format

In your camera settings menu, there is probably an option for you to switch the different kinds of file formats that the pictures are saved onto your memory card as.

Your memory card might not support certain file types.

Lots of file errors, O also now can't copy files off, says i/o device error

try using a memory card with 2GB or below
the camera might be having some problems reading the 4GB that you have

if you connect the camera to your computer and file error still appears that means that the memory card is corrupted and you really need to format it

before you do make sure that you have a copy of the files saved in the memory card

*formatting the memory card will delete all the files saved in it

go to MENU> SET UP > FORMAT

File errors

http://www.samsungcamera.com/popup/download.asp?prj_uid=741&prol_uid=4153
Download the english manual version pdf file and open with adobe reader go to page 84.
When you upload a file that is not taken by this camera to the removable disk, the [File Error!] message will be displayed on the LCD monitor in the play mode, and nothing is displayed in the THUMBNAIL mode.

Make sure that the memory card is formated in the camera not the memory card reader on the computer. Make sure you save your edited files in jpeg file format. Avi for movies. The manual makes it sound like the camera will not read altered files or files not taken by the camera itself. edited files are not files taken by the camera. Good luck I hope this helps.

Xd memory card

A card access error may indicate that an xD-Picture Card memory card is in a write-protected condition. xD-Picture Card memory cards have a special protection feature to ensure that your pictures are kept safe. NOTE: During this condition, you can still use the printer for printing and saving photos from the xD-Picture Card to a secure location, such as the computer hard drive. To resolve this error, try the following:
  • Reinsert the xD-Picture Card memory card into your camera and turn on the camera. In most cases, the camera automatically makes the necessary changes.
  • Reformat the xD-Picture Card memory card. See the documentation that came with your camera for instructions on reformatting the memory card. Note that this process erases the pictures currently saved to your memory card. To save these pictures, transfer them to the computer before reformatting the memory card. Once you reformat the memory card, transfer those photos back to the memory card using the computer.
