I'm experiencing the same issue. When I attempt to turn the TV on, I hear a "click-click" sound coming from the rear of the unit. At that point, the LED on the front right panel turns red, flashes 6 times quickly and then flashes another 3 times slowly.

I unplugged the unit and let it sit for an hour, then plugged it in, and unplugged the unit repeatedly about 10 times. Each time I plugged the unit back in, I tried to turn power on.

Occasionally, the tv will turn on again and appear normal for several days.

I have called the service tech Philips referred me.... but have not heard back from them yet.

Clearly, there is an electronic part needing repair.

This is a well known and very common problem with all Philips plasma tvs 42 and 50 inch. The problem is they used under rated capacitors in the power supply. If you have electronics experience or a friend that is, remove the cover and look in the back for malformed or leaking capcitors. Replace them and see if that takes care of the problem. The caps only cost $2 or $3 each, so the cost to try this is pretty reasonable although you might have an added cost of buying beer for your electronics friend. If this does not fix your problem you are down to replacing boards that can be purchased around $300 ea.
I have found my set will come on "finally" after I get the back of the set warmed up and the bad caps finally charge up. Hope this is useful.

Your TV main board is damaged and you need a new one. You can order one on ebay and fix it yourself. Make sure you have the TV model/serial number on the back label of the TV to have the right part when ordering.

Plud the tv in and a click sound is heard like the tv is turning on but in 10 or 15 seconds green light goes off and a red light starts to flash. It flashes 4 times per cycle.

You may have the bad capacitor issue others have had in the power supply. Google your model number and the words "replace capacitors" for the solution. There is also a Youtube video. Also, check the fuses.
