I think so too. It's a better idea. Going for some postcard printing services online saves time and money. Plus, some printing companies like PrintRunner has a design team to help you work with your postcard layout.

Yes, I think that's a better idea.. depending on how many you need, because the cost of your ink in your printer, may be alot more than actually getting them printed professionally by a printing company.
It would all depend on how many you need.

I have a brand new 800 Epson printer, when I turned it on for the first time it keeps saying jammed paper and I haven't even put paper in it yet

I suggest you return it to the shop and ask for a replacement printer as it is covered by warranty. Do not try to fix it because you most likely will void your warranty.

Canon pixma ip1900 paper jam

Hi
Here's a few things you can try :-
1. Blow it out with canned air. make sure there are no bits of paper or dust in the paper feed area and in the front access area that could be causing the jam.
2. Verify that the cartridge carriage moves to the service area when the front door is opened (as if to change tanks)
3. Verify that the timing belt, drive belt, gearing and rollers all look normal.
4. Take the network out of play when doing the initial troubleshooting
5. With the computer off, unplug the printer's power cord and USB cord for about 3-5 min
6. Completely uninstall the printer's driver and software. Then reinstall the printer's drivers only.
Retry after each step.
Also if your Canon printer has fax capabilities, and you are getting a false paper jam error, the problem is easy to fix.
Open the scanner lid.
You will see a white strip on the left, under the lid.
There are also two small, white tabs near this strip.
Gently pull on each tab. You should feel a small "click" on the tab that is jammed.
This fixes the problem.
I suspect that when previously scanning something like a book page, one of these tabs got pushed the wrong way.
Hope it will help. Also you can get back to me if you need further assistance.
Thankyou.

Hello Cindy Wells, I saw you on Fixya.com and I am having a bit of a problem with my Canon PIXMA MP490. Basically every time I try to print something the printer will start working (i can hear it...

hi there,

it may be that a paper sensor is picking up a small piece of paper in the printer. Has any paper ever torn in the printer? if so there may be some left behind. Carefully inspect the printer to see if there is any small pieces of paper in the printer. You could also try unplugging all cables and taking the outer cover off to inspect closer.

Re the ink cartridges, inkjet printers are notorious for ink drying out in the cartridges and the nozzles blocking with old ink, if the printer is not used at least once a week. It happened to me, i had to get a new printer.

Hope this helps

Hi Trevo
First, check the the paper guide in the feed tray is up against the edge of the paper. If it is not snug then the paper will skew.
If it is OK then check with a torch both sides of the paper path - where it goes in and where it comes out.
I've found bits in the path before now that are not seen at first.
This printer may have a removeable panel at the back where you can check a bit more easily.

The manufacturer recommends you install the universal driver from HP website. The wrong driver can cause the messing up of the paper tray selection. We had the right driver for our printer installed and the support guy told us to put the universal driver on.

So, here's a link to the universal driver PCL6 and PostScript. If you have 64 bit computers on your network then you will have to put the 64 bit universal drivers too (PCL6 and PostScript).

This seems to be a common problem with a lot of HP printers. Your options are to nurse it along or call HP, have them walk you throught some fixes and then ask for a replacement printer if the fixes don't work. I've found that you can "help" the printer by manually pushing the page and this will often help the printer grab the page and print it. However, if you are printing a lot of pages, it's a huge annoyance. I would call HP and complain. If you are under warranty and they cannot remedy the problem, they will ship you a replacement printer. I did this once, and although the problem is not gone, I only have to "help" the printer every 1 out of 20 pages intead of 15 out of 20. I think HP has some problems with their feeding mechanism on the inkjet printers. Too bad as they used to make the best lasers. Good luck!

HP DesignJet 430 rejecting media

When you load the paper, the carriage edge detector measures exactly where the right edge of the paper is located. Then the paper is rolled forward and the edge is measured again. If there is a difference in the measurements, the printer assumes the paper is not loaded squarely and rejects the paper. After you load the paper and the printer asks you to align the paper, take your time, release the paper with the release lever, and line up the right edge of the paper with the right edge of the paper roll. You might have to do it more than once to get it to load. Some plotters are very sensitive and others are more forgiving.
