Question about GE WSM2480DWW Unitized Spacemaker Washer and Gas Dryer

GE Unitized Spacemaker Washer and Gas Dryer

We put one sheet into a medium sized load and turned the machine on to begin the cycle. The water never stoped filling and came out of the back of the machine. It was overflowing from the machine itself, not the wall or the pipes. We had left the house and it flooded the entire apartment. I do not own but rent through a landlord so I do not know if it is under warranty. I do know it is less than 2 years old.

Sure, if it doesn't fill, it won't activate the pressure switch which in turn activates the motor to begin washing.

Lint basket keeps falling out during drying.

Bent the spring tabs to tighten the hold of the basket to back of the drum . If that doesn't work you will have to buy a new one. I found that a lot are damaged by heat.

Top load washer

I would suggest checking the pump. Sometimes a pump, whether electric or direct drive, will fail. When pumps fail they often will still work part of the time, removing only some of the water in the tub.
