I have a casio exilm

I have a casio exilm digital camera.The batery is a rechargeable NP20,I have had the camera for less then 2 years.My problem is that I cant charge the batery,with the charger sold with the camera.The red light on the charger flashes on and off.
Can you advise me on this problem
