Dead usb ports

I have a new Gateway desktop with four USB ports on the back, a pair on the front bottom, and another mid-front. One of the back four is dead, as if one of the front pair. How can I fix this?

Thanks.

If it's new, get it fixed under warranty. A dead single port of a pair indicates hardware fault

Wher are the USB ports on Advent DT1308

    Advent Advance DT1308 Desktop PC?

    http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/desktops/370084/advent-dt1308

Look at the Back of your Advent computer tower.
    Look at the lower left.

This rectangular area is the I/O area.
    Input/Output area.

This is where Input and Output devices are attached.

Look at the Purple round PS/2 port all the way at the right bottom.
It's where the Keyboard plugs in.

Right above it are four USB ports.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB

There are several styles of USB ports. This style is a USB female type A,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:USB.svg

    (Standard A )

According to the review (Specs tab), there is supposed to be two USB ports in the Front. (Front Panel)
    I do not see them.

Could be behind a door that swings open.

Looking at the Side View, with the Side Panel of the computer case removed, the USB cables going to these front ports, are going towards the bottom/front.

Where do you hookup the printer to the one zx series

    Hello,

Where you hookup your printer to your PC will depend in part on what interface your printer uses to communicate with your PC.

Some of the possibilities are the parallel port, the USB port or a lan port.

Most printers these days use the USB port.

There appears to be four USB ports on the back of your machine.

I have a gateway zx4800-03 and I need to know how to remove the hard drive to put in a new one

I removed one on a Gateway ZX4800-02. Remove two screws by the usb ports on the back. then remove the plastic piece covering the usb ports on the back. This will expose the HDD. Now to make it easier. remove the four screws holding the support bracket and remove support bracket. remove the three screws holding the HDD located up, right, and left. Now disconnect the HDD cable by pull it to the right by the connector. DO NOT PULL THE CABLES. My friend does that by habit all the time and it drives me crazy.

HDD should come out easy. Just remove the metal cage covering the HDD and Replace. Reverse order for reassembly.

Now does anyone know how to get off the damn front bezel!>!!?!?!?!? I can't figure it out.

    All USB ports dead....

    Hi,

Try removing the PCI USB Adaptor and clean the gold contact with dry brush, then place it back again. If this still doesn't work, try moving the PCI USB Adaptor into other available PCI slot.

I hope this procedure solves your problem.

Usb ports not picking up memory stick

Is it just Memory Stick, or everything that you plug into USB?
    Try following:
    1. plug in other USB device into ports
    2. if it does not detect any USB device on any port on your computer
    3. if both front and back USB do not work it may be taht USB is turned off in BIOS, or USB driver is corupted
    4. If you have front USBs and they just do not work there is wire connecting them to the motherboard since it may be loose, if connection is OK than they are dead.
    5. If just back USB do not work than they are dead>
