LCD screen white

Hi, when I open my lcd screen, the screen appears all white with some lines running through it. The camera records and takes pictures fine. Also, when I look through the viewfinder, it flickers. Thank you for your time.

SOURCE: Panasonic NV-GS60 with horizontal lines appear on screen

Clean the heads(use the specified cleaning tape sparingly).
Change tape. Using Panasonic video tape? It sounds like no. You might get by with Sony... Try Panasonic.
The tapes are different thickness, durability and therefore suitability for cameras. Try to get ME -type tape( metal evaporated) instead of MP( metal particle) as the particles tend to flake off more readily. The blue often means no signal(video) was recorded in that space(on the tape). Let me know it it helps.

SOURCE: Hi, I have the Panasonic

The problem is likely to be the flat ribbin cable that goes from the camera body to the screen. It has developed a crack in one or more of the wires. The cable will need to be replaced. This is a tricky operation as the dis-assembly of a camera is not simple. I would recommend that you take this to an authorized Panasonic service center for repair.

Lcd screen lines in sony handycam dcrsr45. when i start camcorder there is vibration type lines in lcd screen, not white lines just picture and horizontal vibrations which are recorded in was...

The most common problem with this camcorder is the lcd cable assy. It is the cable that comes in from the lcd panel assy to the internal board assy. I have seen possibly 100 of these cameras and different models and this fixes it everytime.
I hope this helps.

My samsung mini camcorder scd103 screen and veiw finder is white. i can't record picture but i can record sound.

Hi,this sounds as if the LCD monitor is defect and will be in need of replacement. To confirm LCD defect, insure that problem is with display, by verifying video output to TV or PC.If video is alright through a/v outputs to TV,than LCD is defect. However,if TV output is also white, than problem lies on main camera PC board.Whichever the case I do think that warranty repair should apply on this model and suggest to contact mfg factory service.

Note - In few cases i have seen that even corrupted firmware could cause the same.

Good Luck!!

I work on this model of samsung the lcd problem is a common thing with this camera
The ribbon cable to the lcd from the camera cracks and causes what you are talking about .
Normally the camera will still work buy using the eye viewfinder for recording and playback but you will not hear the sound unless the lcd door is open but then the picture in the viewfinder goes away when this door is open and comes back when it is closed

My LCD Screen..

Your flat-wire connection between LCD monitor and the monitor PWB inside the camera is broken. can't fix it by yourself. Look for a Panasonic authorized service only!

Lost LCD Screen

You MAY just have a dirty playback head. Purchase a head cleaning tape (Bestbuy, Target, etc., for about $20) and try cleaning your playback head. Colored lines is ONE symptom of a dirty head. A blue screen is ANOTHER. I had that symptom yesterday (9/7/07), got a cleaning tape and solved the problem. I can now again see on the LCD display what I recorded on the tape. Good luck.

LCD won't project

You may have a problem with the image sensor device (CCD). From October 3, 2005 through October 2, 2007, Sony will repair, free of charge, affected products exhibiting the above-mentioned problem where it is caused by the image sensor device. Sony will also cover the cost of shipping and handling from and to addresses within the United States and US Territories for service to correct this issue. To see if you have this problem: Power On your camcorder (make sure the battery is fully charged). Check the LCD screen and verify that the display icons are turned on. If you cannot see the icons, press the Display button until the icons are visible. Put a tape in the camcorder. With the lens cap off, record some video. NOTE: Be sure to speak during the recording so the video will contain your voice. Rewind this section of the tape (using tape counter to verify start of your recording). Play back the recorded video and use the LCD screen on the camcorder to view it. You should hear the audio you recorded and the Display icons/text will still appear. If your camcorder is affected by this CCD issue, the picture will either be extremely distorted, or there will be no visible picture (just a blank LCD screen with the display icons still visible).
