if you are trying to wire the batteries for teh 24 volt motor then you need to connect the positive of one battery to the negative of the other battery. then connect the trolling motor to the remaining two terminal of the batteries.
if you are trying to connect the charger to the batteries then each battery should have its own set of wire coming from the charger.these wires should be connected to the batteries in a set not crossed between batteries.
I have seen the threaded terminals on batteries where the threads do not go all the way down the terminals far enough to actually provide enough threads to tighten down wires!...whew..
Make sure the charger wires terminals are actually crimped on the wire and not the insulation..seen that too.
First. the +/positive/hot wires go to the respective/separate +positive/hot side battery terminals.. and the -/negative/ground wire go to their respective/separate -/negative/ground battery terminals.
The wires from the charger are "paired out".. meaning the + and - pair must go to the same battery. .. you can't mix and match.
Hi! For starters, here is a schematic: Endura 30 Check to see if there is appropriate voltage getting to the switch (with an ohm meter). You can (please do this carefully) disconnect the battery positive and negative as well as the motor red and motor black wires and connect the Batt positive to the motor red and the Batt negative to the motor black. If the motor runs, the switch is faulty. If it doesn't then I suspect the motor needs looking at. Best of luck! Mike
It might help to view drawings at http://secure.northlandmarine.com/MinnkotaTillerSteering.html. The spring loaded items are brushes. They carry current to the rotor/shaft/impeller causing them to spin. I have two Model 35s. One failed after a couple hours of use. The other was given to me because it did not work. Both suffer from water getting into the motor and causing corrosion and sticking brushes. Someone on another site commented that this was a common problem for Minn Kota.
