To be honest, I would not attempt to fix. I had problem with lines on a gameboy and after wasting 3 hours trying to fix it, it had broken to the point of a huge blob covering half the screen. The screens are generally not replaceable because the ribbon connectors are usually soldered in place (the exception to this that I know of is the nintendo DS)
If you really want to try to fix it, check how the ribbon cable connects to the main board of the neo geo. if it pushes into a connector then wiggle it, make sure it's in firmly. if it's soldered on, check for loose connections. You can't do much else.
Neogeo pockets retail for about £10-20 on ebay or £25 in gamestation so I'd advise taking the painless route and replacing it.

A loading screen freeze usually means that there's the wrong version of the software installed. You have to make sure it was made for your specific model of R4, and there are a few out there.
The R4i Neo is a fairly unique clone, but unfortunately it's not a good one. Once you track down the correct software try it again. If it still doesn't work, then you might be better off investing in a better card like the iEdge .
If you're looking to get genuine cards for your ds (there are fakes out there), take a look here, http://www.dscardworld.com. I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it. US based support and shipping I believe.
Pokemon White wont play on my dslite but al other games work. when is start up pokemon white both screens turn blank and the only thing that works to get this screens away is tto turn off the ds. could you please help me with this problem i want to play pokemon white
Yes you have to prepare your R4 before load it in your DS...
there are a lot´s of aplication and homebrew for DS that you can download in the web...
emulator, for genesis, nes, SNES, sega master system, and even NEO GEO MVS.
try to download a DS Pack torrent with everything!
and install in the R4...Good Luck!
then there is a malfunctioning with the psp i suppose. if u just purchased it, go back to the shop and tell them there is something wrong with it. and they should repair it or if they cant they should replace it. it still should be under warranty, if not then if im not mistaken , by customer's rights we can return a good under 7 days. double check tho.
assuming u didnt drop the psp or damage it in other ways...
flashing red light usually means the display cable isnt working, otherwise it would give you an error code. Have you tried a new display cable (thing that goes between console and tv). I'd give that a go.
My concern is that you said you are trying to soft mod it. soft modding is for people that do not want to open there xbox, for warranty reasons. this can be done with two video games the matrix with jada picket and I forgot the other which is the one that I used I don't have my games with me to tell you. but you should be able to find it on the net. if not let me know.
hard modding is what you are doing..... you can find all you need on the net. try typing in the search engine xbox ultimate boot. try it in yahoo or msn I like those the best. If you find it all you have to do is take your old hard drive out put it in a safe place and replace it with your hard drive. I had problems going over 200G but I'm sure it can be done. I put 160GB in mine. Ultimate boot should have games on it for sega, nintendo, super Nintendo, game boy, neo geo, ect. you can do it. write back and let me know how it goes.
It could also be running fluid from the screen's gel padding. I doubt that, though...
It's best to buy or order a replacement screen. It's actually not too expensive and is not too hard to DIY. The problem with that, is it's really easy to accidentally break something while opening up a DS, especially the DS lites. Another problem is, you need a triwing screwdriver to open up the DS, which can only be found online. So, if you don't want to buy anthing online, you should just ask gamestop or something to repair it for you. It'll come at a price though...
