Acer desctop no screen light

Check if all cables are attached:
- power to screen
- dvi or vga from computer to screen: press on all connectors to push them hard on.

Did it work before ?
Maybe video in bios has to be set to vga card when still on motherboard.
Did you install a new vga card: then you need to install the driver for it.

I have a MPC ClientPro414 and I had turned it off when I went to turn it on the screen will not come on. We do not have the install disc and am not sure what to do? The screen dose not light up to see it...

Usually computers make beep sounds when starting up.

Do you hear any of the beep sounds?
If you hear two beeps with an interval of a couple of second, than the computer should be ok.

It could also be the monitor. Try connecting the monitor to a computer that works, or try connecting a working monitor to your computer. If the computer lights up with another monitor, then the monitor is faulty.

If the computer still is not starting up with a working monitor, than the videocard of the computer should be checked next.

My computer screen is black after logging in and i cant do anything i have windows vista

Hello

This usually occurs when your RAM is faulty and can actually happen to all computers running many different operating systems. Aside from installing a new operating system to test out the RAM, you can simply switch out your RAM.

Turn off your computer if it is on. If you are experiencing the black screen regularly, there is a good chance that it will not allow you to boot up your computer fully without shutting itself down. If this is the case, your computer is already more than likely off. Remove the power cord from the computer tower.

Remove the screws that hold the PC tower cover in place with a screwdriver. The tower cover usually only comes off on one side, so gently remove the side that is capable, and place it away from the tower. Users with laptops need to remove the RAM panel from the underside of the computer. This gives you access to the RAM for replacing.

Locate the RAM that is attached to the motherboard of your computer. You will see clasps that hold the RAM into place, and you may see more than one stick of RAM. Remove all of the RAM sticks by pushing the clasps away, unhooking the RAM from the motherboard. Click your new, replacement RAM into place, and cover the tower back up with the cover, or replace the laptop RAM panel.

Hook up the power cable or place the battery back in, and power on your computer. You now see that your computer is working without the black screen appearing. If you have more than one stick of RAM, turn the computer off, and remove the power cords and battery. Insert one old RAM stick, and cover the tower back up, replace the power cord or battery, and turn on your computer. Check to make sure it does not present you with the blue screen. One by one, reinsert the old RAM sticks into your computer, and test your computer for stability. Once you are presented with the black screen, remove the last old RAM stick that you inserted, and your screen problems are gone.

I need to insatll a new memory card in my sony VGC-V517G computer how do I open it up?

Sony eSupport>VAIO VGC-V517G>Manuals,

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=VGCV517G

On this page l would like you to left-click on - VAIO User Guide, under the Manuals heading.

A small window will pop up on the left side of the screen. It took almost 30 seconds before I saw the first page. The screen was white in the meantime.
(PDF file is downloading in the background)

In the Bookmarks to the left, scroll down to -
Upgrading and Maintaining Your VAIO Computer, and left-click on the + sign to expand the file.

Left-click on Installing Memory.
(Page 91)

Page 92 has details, and illustrations, on removing the computer back cover.

Barring something prevents you from downloading this PDF file;

1) Computer off, and unplugged from power.

2) Observe Anti-Static precautions

[Anti-Static Precautions:

Your body carries Static electricity.
Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the hardware components inside a computer.

Computer unplugged from power, computer on a table, computer case open, TOUCH an unpainted surface of the metal frame.

This will relieve your body of Static.

Should you get up, and walk away in the middle of working on your computer, upon your return Touch the metal frame again ]

3) Disconnect any Peripheral devices connected to your computer.

Advise lay a clean towel on the table.
Gently lay the computer down on the towel, LCD screen face down.

4) Slide the back cover towards the top of the LCD screen.
It will only slide up so far, then the top of the back cover, is tilted towards the back of the computer, and lifted off.
Set the back cover aside.

5) Back of the computer towards you, the Ram Memory Cover is on the Right side.

The cover looks like a panel. It is rectangular shaped. There are two screws holding the cover on. Remove these two screws, lift the Memory Cover off.

The Ram Memory modules are right there.

Need further guidance in removing and installing ram memory modules, state in a Comment.
(Believe upper right of your page is the Comment button)

Pc cant desplay.when switch on the pc it comes on but nothing show on the screen.

If absolutely nothing comes up on the screen when you boot up at all the first thing you should do is check your cables to make sure that all of them are connected properly and that the video cables are screwed in properly with there attached thumb screws for a tight connection. If this dose not work my next suggestion would be to insert a copy of the windows install cd that came with your dell and see if any thing comes up(because if it dose it means that it is your screen settings and not a hardware failure) if this dose work I would suggest reinstalling. If not your video card has probably failed on you sorry but just to make sure of this what you should do is turn your computer around and look at the back of it here you should be able to find 4 lights each labeled a single letter from A-B, once you find them turn on the system and record the pattern of flashes, ie. "A A B C D A" and this will be your hardware error code you can call up dell and they will tell you exactly what is wrong with your system.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,
Norse
