How many devices can be connected via bluetooth

Hi Sam,
  • The official Bluetooth specifications state seven(7) is the maximum number of Bluetooth devices that can be connected at once.
  • However, three (3) to four (4) devices is a practical limit, depending on the types of devices and profiles used.
  • Some devices require more Bluetooth data, so they are more demanding than other devices. Data-intensive devices may reduce the total number of devices that can be active at the same time.
  • Some manufacturers may limit the number of Bluetooth connected Devices;
  • Price & Quality may also be a factor.
If a Bluetooth device becomes slow to connect or does not perform reliably, reduce the total number of connected devices.

JP

Remove bluetooth paired devices?

On the paired device list screen, just wait it out for about 10 minutes or so and the list of devices will eventually become enabled (device names will turn from being greyed out to white). You can then select a device and then hit the remove button. After that, as you go back to the main Bluetooth setup screen, you may notice that the register new device button is stilled greyed out. Just wait a little bit and that should become enabled too. Good luck. I found all this out by accident as I was troubleshooting the same problem on my unit.

Bluetooth for dummies

Bluetooth is a means of secure, bidirectional data transport between a host device and a client. If you consider the most common application of Bluetooth connectivity, the hands free headset, first the headset requests to become part of a Bluetooth personal area network (PAN) and the host, your phone, approves the request. At this point your phone and headset are paired. They enjoy a relationship where, when they are connected, they communicate exclusively with each other. No other device may become party to the relationship unless the host allows it. Bluetooth itself is really only another form of RF communications, similar to WiFi, but more secure.

Connect to laptop

If your laptop has a bluetooth application installed in it, it should pair up. However if your computer is not compatible then you would need to get a bluetooth with a dongle; the dongle becomes the application. The Explorer 240 has been discontinued and does not have a dongle. You might try looking at this one.
