Question about Philips 32PF5321 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Connecting my MAC to my LCD TV!

I've got a macbook that I'd like to connect to my Philips LCD 32PF5321, however I'm having problems. I've been out to MAC and purchased a mini dvi to vga adapter but am now having real problems finding a cable that will accommodate the vga to LCD, as there doesn't seem to be a vga available on the LCD.
I'm stuck now and no one anywhere seems to be able to give me a straight answer! Is it possible, can I connect the mac to the LCD. If I can, how is it done? Please help!

Do you have a DVI port on the LCD screen? Please tell me what connections you have on your macbook and your TV. There may be a converter.

Normally HDTVs can only be hooked up through S video or DVI Depending on your video card.

Male DVI to Female HDMI adapter. this should work as long as your tv allows it.

Problem connecting quite new macbook pro to the toshiba regza 57" Z3030 LCD TV... doesn't seem to work

You may find that as Mac uses a different standard for VGA output, the sync will be on a different pin not recognized by the TV.
You may need to purchase a Mac to IBM adapter from a computer store.
Hope this helps.

Screen shift when connecting Mac to LCD

When connected to an external display you have 2 options.
Extended you can stretch across both screens like a giant desktop or you can have mirrored displays which have exactly the same thing on each.
With your monitor plugged in...
  1. Open Apple ▸ System Preferences..
  2. Select Displays
  3. Go under Arrangement section
  4. Check the Mirror Displays check box

You have to hook up the TV to a router or hub, not a computer
