Question about Hitachi P42H401 42 in. Plasma HDTV
The red standby light continues to blink and does not stop. Also, the TV doesn't stay on long enough for me to go into settings or anything, only 2-3 seconds. Any help could be appreciated. I'm wondering if I could fix this with the help of my friend, who knows some things about computer parts and their installation. Also, how much might it cost me if I just took it into a TV repair place?
I suspect that your power controller board has a problem and is causing the shutdown. If it is under warranty, get it fixed under warranty. If it is not, it may be possible to purchase the board and install it your self. Be careful though plasma TVs have some areas to avoid when servicing.

i have a hitachi 55hdt79 that i purchased brand new some years ago and after only 1 year of use my girlfriend with her infinite wisdom threw something at me and as I dodged it the item hit and cracked the screen on the TV! I took it off the wall and boxed it up and has been sitting in my basement ever since. It still powers up and you can hear sound from it but for obvious reasons there is now image. If someone wants to make me an offer for it so they can use the parts to fix their own tv please let me know. email firstname.lastname@example.org it is located in Brooklyn NY 11223. you pay for shipping or I prefer you come pick it up. no reasonable offer refused.
