It can be various items, first check the thermal fuse located at appx 2:00 behind the drum it has 2 wires on it,somewhat tight area to access.if its good as in has continuity, then check the ignitor at the burner assy, there is no pilot light,if its good, start it and listen for 3 clicks as this is the gas valve coils opening the gas valve,if only 2 are heard the gas valve coils are open,,they are inexpensive and easily replaced,or the high limit thermostat on the heat difuser near the back inside behind the drum or the flame serser on the burner tube side is bad, these 2 are a very rare occurance though

Stops and all the lights come on

Instructions
    • 1 Make sure the home's gas supply valve is turned on. Check your Maytag owner's manual to find the location of the dryer's gas shut-off valve. This is usually behind the dryer's front panel or in the back of the unit. Open the valve to allow gas to flow into the dryer.
    • 2 Open the lower front panel of the dryer to access the pilot light assembly. Press and hold the starter button as you light the pilot with a handheld lighter. If you have trouble getting it to light, release the starter button and wait a few minutes before trying it again. Once the pilot is lit, hold the starter button down for another minute to make sure it will stay burning.

    • 3 Close the dryer's front panel and run a test cycle to see if it is producing heat. Call a repairman to evaluate the problem if lighting the pilot did not restore the heat.

My dryer has no heat. is the pilot light out if so where would it be located?

Gas dryers have an electric igniter, no pilot light. If it runs but doesn't heat, it could be: igniter or thermal fuse

Dryer runs fine but does not heat

Check that the pilot light is lit and flame kicks on when dryer is activated. If no flame, then check gas valve. If only pilot remains lit but does not increase when dryer is activated, then you could have a bad coupler or sensor or circuit problem which would have to be tested with a voltmeter and/or test light.

Kenmore dryer not heating

hi,
1) When this happens, something has interrupted the heat source. Run the dryer for a couple of minutes to see if it gets hot. Be sure you don't have the dial or controls on a non-heat setting, such as "Fluff" or "Wrinkle Control."

2) On an electric dryer, this may mean that the circuit breaker or fuse that controls the power has blown; reset or replace this. Be aware that a dryer may have two breakers or fuses. The motor will run when one works, but the heating element requires both.

3) On a gas dryer, recheck the control's setting to be sure it's not on a heat-free setting. Check the gas valve behind the dryer to be sure the gas supply is turned on. Also make sure the house's main gas valve is turned on.

4) Most modern dryers have electronic ignition instead of a pilot light. If yours has electronic ignition and isn't heating, call a qualified repairperson.

On an older dryer, make sure the pilot light is burning. If it isn't, relight it. You can find directions in your owner's manual, and pilot light instructions are often mounted next to the pilot light on the burner, too.

DRYER RUNS AND NO HEAT

Please tell me more as to what you have done to fix the problem.

Please check the following:

1. vent tube clear
2. lint trap/screen cleaned
3. thermostat control sensor operational
3. Flame overthrow sensor

Is your pilot light lit on your gas dryer? If it is, when turning on, does the burners fire up? If not, replace burner and control module.
