Depends where the sparking is most of the time it's the flyback transformer. other wise the tubes will spark.

I touch the on/off button on the Prima TV to turn

I am sure you had some strong static electricity. The static spark arced to inside of the TV in to the circuit board. Many of the low cost TV sets have poor static electricity protection.
In most cases there is damaged caused by static shock to electronic devices.
Just for curiosity, you can try unplugging the set from the AC mins and plugging it back in to do a simple reset, in case there is no damage and some logic device became hung up.
Last year I picked up my mobile phone and got a static shock from it. I had to get a new phone. This phone never worked again!

Tv went off and won't come back on.

the arcing sound is some kind of high voltage leak, which will shut down the tv. pull the speaker grill off and the access board, look at the 3 picture tubes, turn the set on you will see where the leak is, it's usually the high voltage splitter, which has a high voltage wire going into it and 3 high voltage wires coming out going to the picture tubes, if it arcs from the splitter you need to change it, if it arcs from one of the picture tube wires you need to pull the tube out and fix the high voltage leak, and possibly a cooling fluid leak caused it, not an easy reapir, you probably need a repairman.

My RCA projection tv makes a loud buzzing, humming noise. Does as soon as turned on even before picture comes on, does not stop till tv is turned off.

buzzing noise is cause by small electrical arc inside the unit or a problem in your audio circuit.if you can open the unit up and check if its an electrical arc.

Popping; sparking of Red Projector to metal frame

Sounds like the red CRT has an internal short. Sometimes happens that the picture tubes develop an internal short and cause arcing. I world CAREFULLY disconnect all of the wires to the CRT and see if the arcing goes away. VERY IMPORTANT!!! there is a high voltage wire attached to each pictur tube, usually a red wire that goes to the side of the tube. You can get a shock even if the TV is unplugged, as the tube will hold a charge for years after the power is disconnected. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, DON"T since the shock is powerful enough to stop your heart.

Rca tv electrical problem

Hi, If the TV is still operational, what you are hearing are probably high voltage arcing. Most common are in the anode cap area brought about by accumulated dust, grime and dirt on the outer glass envelope of the picture tube. This occurs mostly after a continuous or heavy rain or when the surrounding air is damp. Since the unit is still operational except for the "sparks", this should only require cleaning of the above stated area. However, there are extremely high voltages even when the unit is off that perhaps you are better off seeking the services of a qualified TV technician. Other possible areas of arcing are the fly back transformer, the horizontal output transistor PCB soldering points, the G2, Focus solder points. in some remote cases, it can be just inside the neck of the PIX tube. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

I HAVE AN OLDER VERSION RCA 36 INCH TV

Your problem is flyback transformer cap is leak or tared due to ageing or rust. Since it is high voltage transformer your boyfried get shock. If you have technical knowledge or technical support just try the following process. Switchoff the tv and remove power chord from plug. Wait minimum 4hrs. Then remove the back cover clean picture tube and transformer cap with IP solution. After allowing 30mins dry switch on the tv. All the process will be done by service engineer only. Risk of electric shock.

During dark images on my TV, several green lines are visible across the TV.

You may have an arc in the screen and focus circuits. Water may have gotten into these circuits causing a delayed reaction. (Circuits Corroded). These circuits at least part of them are a part of the high voltage transformer (flyback). Your picture tube socket has spark gaps inside of it too which may be arcing. You need to have it checked by a tech to find out just what is arcing. Stargazer
