Question about Schwinn Exercise & Fitness
Treadmill had been standing unused in a basement for 3 years. Oiled belt and started treadmill. Appears to be stuck at a high elevation but the panel says 0 elevation. The big problem is a squeak in the electric motor that speeds up when the motor speeds up. Can this motor be oiled? Do you think it is the motor at all?
The motor you can be oiled . But see the next instruction.
RUN THE SOFTWARE CALIBRATION FOR Easy diagnose and troubleshooting , see the instruction under the Hood of Motor, and follow the step or user manuals. Inspect the 1) Potentiometer + gear of the same Pot ( lubricate very slight).
sincerely. God bless you.

The incline operation and the walking belt operation are independent of each other. The walking belt should run regardless of the incline operation.
Although I have never had a problem with the gears in the incline motor being defective, you may need the motor replaced.. Try an incline calibration.
With the safety key in place, press start to start the machine. Press incline up. While the numbers are changing, remove the safety key. Release the incline up button. Reinstall the key, the machine should calibrate . After calibration, retry the operation normally.
Because the circumstances here are unusual, I would next disassemble the right upright and inspect the wiring harness for damage. During assembly, it is easy to pinch the harness (usually at the bottom of the upright), damaging the wiring to the console. The console may work, the the information may not get to the motor control PCB. The machine may have worked for a period of time before the damage became apparent, the flexing and movement of the frame eventually will eat through the wiring causing a number of unusual symptoms.
