Question about Canon PowerShot A620 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Lost pictures???? On vacation I took my pics on the Large setting(not sure why). As the weeks went on I was running out of room on my 512 card so I changed the setting to medium size. I took pics on medium for the last 3 days only. When getting home and flipping through the pics only the pics shot on medium are showing up. I have tried using the card reader also...no large pics! The weird thing is that when looking at the shots 9 tumblenails per page, there is one tumbnail that is black with a yellow question mark on it. I am unable to click on it or open it. Is it possible my shots taken in large size are compressed somewhere? I can't find them and really don't want to lose them. Help?

    Canon Powershot IS720

I had lots of pics on the memory card in my camera from my vacation. I changed the setting to "default" on the camera on the 2nd last day of my trip and all pictures were erased. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your memory card is corrupt. This most important thing is not to use the card any further until you have recovered your pictures. Unfortunately i see from the date of your post that this may not be the case. What you need is some memory card picture recovery software. There are several shareware programs available for download. Try googling it. Good luck!

Delete all pictures from my Olympus C5500 photo chips. I have a 256 and a 512 mb cards which I have already printed. I want to clear the cards for new pics. Both are full. We leave on vacation in 2 weeks.

these cards you mention for digital cameras are very very small!
Best thing you can do is purchase a card that is let's say at least 8gb.
this will allow you to take as many pictures as you like on your vacation.
The cards generally sell quite inexpensively at MicroCenter or Fry's, check both if you have them locally.
Most of these cards are SD HD, make sure your camera accepts these. Best thing is to take your camera along and test it right then and there.
If it is the camera presenting the problem, this company is very reliable:http://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/manufacturer/olympus.asp

Cant read the xd card

Try http://www.spartanphotocenter.com/digital-camera-sensor-cleaning.html the card needs a data recovery (using special recovery software) and then a reformat. That may get most of your pictures back, but there will most likely be some (can't say how many or why) that will be corrupt and not usable. If the corrution is really bad no pictures will be available. No way to know except by attemoting a data recovery.

Hi i have a casio exilim and i am using a 2gb memory card in it, i went out last night and took lots of pictures after each pic was taken i viewed it to make sure it was ok or if i needed to take another...

You problem set your camera to use internal memory only. Set the memory function to memory card only and all pictures will go to the memory card until it is full. You can probably still transfer your pic files from internal memory to your card.

There are portable harddrive devices for you to move your pictures to. Other devices will help you move them to a iPod as an example. They had varying degrees of success. If available, the suggestion to move them from your camera media to CD is the lowest cost in the short run. You should consider getting a few more cards though too. That will give you more time between CD burning and in the event something goes wrong, your pics are spread between cards and not all on one.
