F5eo code and door lactch is out?

Error code F5-E0 means a Door Latch failure and is displayed due to malfunction of door latch-switch assembly.

To start, I suggest check the door latch switch, if this is good, then recommended replacement of door latch-switch mechanism.

Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Tip

My Whirlpool oven wont work, and I get error code E1-F5 on display.

Hi.

On Whirlpool ranges the error code E1-F5 means that there is a problem with the door latch switch or with wiring to door latch.

Try first disconnecting power for five minutes, by either tripping circuit breaker or disconnecting power cord.

You may have to pressand hold the Cancel/Clear key on control pad down for about 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from ERC internal EPROM.

If that does not work, then there is a fault.

Disconnect power, access the door switch and testwires and connectors going from electronic control board to the doorswitch. An easy way to test wiring is by reading Ohms on the wire. Ifthe circuit is closed, the tester will read zero or low impedance, thatmeans that the wiring is good. If the multimeter set on impedance readsopen (no continuity), that means that the wire is broken and the wiringharness to the door latch must be replaced or fixed.

If there is no problem with the wires from Oven Electronic Control toDoor Latch Switch, then the door switch is probably faulty.
The switch can be tested reading Ohms on its contacts, and checking ifthe switch is opening and closing circuit while actuating the switchwith a pointed object at the same time.

If the switch is faulty, then replace the door switch.

After repairing the wiring or replacing the switch connect power back. You may have to pressand hold the Cancel/Clear key on control pad down for about 1 minuteagain, to clear F5 failure code from ERC internal EPROM. When F2 isshown on display, push the Cancel/Clear button again and observe theappliance working testing it again, to ensure that the repair had beensuccessful.

The tip is not only valid for Whirpool ovens, but also works on other brands that had been built by Whirlpool.

Best regards.

Ginko.

Whirlpool TXFE366LVQ. When I turn selfclean after few minutes it shuts itself off and displays code F5E2

An F5 error code indicates that you need to check the oven door or the latching switch. The switch is used when cleaning the oven, for safe closure. If you find that the door or the latch switch do not function, you may need to replace them
F5-E2 means latch during clean error; the door and latch switch need checking and possible replacement.

1. If door latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Replace door switch.
  4. Re-apply power.
  5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
2. If door not latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.
3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
6. If failure remains, disconnect power and replace control.

Hope helps.

J SP420 NIBB GE oven Display reads FC locked door and oven will not work but stovetop works.

The "FC" error code means that there is a failure in the door lock circuit.

You may want to check the switches in the door latch first. Then check the wire harness from the door latch to the control board. If there is nothing wrong, replace the control board.

You may need to get an appliance repair person out.

I have A F9 code on the display on my jenn-air stove what does this mean?

This indicates a problem in the door latch circuit. First check that the latch is fully opened. If it is acess the door latch motor and check for a shorted motor, to do this get an ohmeter and put one lead on the red or black wire and the other on the motor housing you should get no reading if you do replace the motor. If the motor checks out good replace the ERC electronic range control, before doing this unplug for 5 minutes and see if it will reset. To replace the ERC this link should help http://appliancehelponline.com/ovenerc.html

How to open door on kitchenaid oven after cleaning cycle is over the there is no power?

do you mean no power to the unit or no display?
if no power, then reset your house breaker and then push the cancel button. it should unlock.
if you have a good breaker, then the unit most likely has a failed thermal fuse. this happens alot on these.
there is a thermal fuse on the back of the unit that will cause the unit to not heat, and another thermal link in the wiring harness at the control board. if this one is bad, then you wont get any display.
you can get the door open by taking a bent wire coat hanger and locate the latch between the doors and pull it sideways to free the latch. then you can remove the control panel and get to the thermal link.

F5 fault codes are latch mechanism problems. One means the latch won't lock, the other means the latch won't unlock. Odd you're getting both...

Oven display problem

F5-E1 is a fault code denoting a failed door lock/latch mechanism. Before having it replaced, go outside to you main breaker box and turn the power off to it for a couple of minutes... try to reset the controller. If the fault code appears again, the door lock/latch mechanism needs to be replaced.
