Dell inspiron 1520 won't turn on.

Remove the battery from its compartment on the side of your Dell Inspiron laptop computer.

Remove the power adapter from its plug on the side of the Dell Inspiron (if your laptop is currently plugged into a wall outlet).

Press down and hold the "Power" button on the laptop for one to two minutes. This will dispel the excess electrical current that is built up inside the laptop.

Put the battery back inside the compartment of your Dell Inspiron.

Plug your power adapter back into the side of the Dell Inspiron. Press "Power." Your laptop computer will now turn on.

hope this helps

It wont turn on all it said is loding os image

An AC power adapter and a battery work together to serve as the power supply of a notebook computer. Whenever you connect a power adapter into a laptop's power port, it supplies enough power to the battery for you to boot the operating system, run programs and perform computing tasks.

1. Turn on the laptop. If it does not power on, the battery may need to be charged. Connect the two ends of the AC adapter into the notebook's power port and a power outlet. Ensure that the power outlet into which the AC adapter is connected is active. Try plugging the power adapter into another wall outlet if the first outlet you try is not generating power.

2. See if the LED power light goes up. If it does but the laptop still does not power on, reseat the battery. Open the battery compartment at the back of the laptop and remove the battery. Wipe the gold contacts of the battery as well as the battery contacts of your laptop. Place the battery back into the slot and ensure that it is properly seated.

3. Remove all unnecessary peripherals if the laptop still does not power on; these may include external hard drives, flash drives and card readers. Turn on the laptop once again and see if it powers on successfully.

4. Use another battery or another AC adapter. If using another battery or another AC power adapter solves the problem, then the issue is with the battery or the AC adapter that you were using. Replace whichever item is malfunctioning. If this still does not remedy the issue, then the issue may be with the laptop's power port or the laptop may be malfunctioning. Seek help with a professional if this is the case.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

I left my computer and when I came back it was off and the battery was plugged in the outlet. I restarted it and it worked for a minute or two and then closed again. When I pressed the power button again,...

It might be possible that your power adapter died. But before reaching this conclusion remove your adapter from the outlet and the laptop. Examine for any broken connections and if none, try plugging it back in. Also try using your adapter on a different outlet.
Hope this helps.

Acer Extensa 5620: The power supply jack is loose when you plug it into the laptop. Sometimes it will provide power and sometimes it will not (orange battery light on front of laptop goes on & off)....

System check
1. estimate the extent of damage, possibly requires entire board replacement housing the extension power supply modulators, possibly due to physical damage on contact.
2. Aslo check the battery life since could determine the possibilty of substituting power chord from currrent outlets with batteries

The device would not connect to power outlet without a properly functioning battery installed. A depleted battery could not be replaceble by connecting a source out power outlet. each parts of the power complement the entire process of achieving computer experiece.

Consult a technician insisting the replace the entire power system of battery and ac adapters and also fixing damages on the mother board may be contributing to power leakage

3) PLUG IN the ac adapter to the wall outlet (DO NOT PUT BACK IN THE BATTERY)

After you plugged in you pc, try powering on the unit again.

If it does not power on, please write me back.

Was using the laptop (dv6426us) and it just cut off. Was plugged into outlet with power supply, no warning messages prior to that. Now it will not power on at all, no lights, no beeps, nothing. If I unplug...

First, measure the voltage coming out of the power supply. If it is good (specs will be on the power brick itself.) then this sounds like a short on the motherboard. To eliminate all else, remove anything that is removable (hard drive, CD/DVD and RAM). Leave the battery out also. Plug in the power supply and see if it beeps. If not, you have a bad motherboard. If it does beep, replace the ram. At that point, you should be able to see POST. If you get nothing, it is the ram. Keep adding until the problem resurfaces. The last item added is the culprit.
Good luck.

Charger for E1705 beeps and no green light

You are describing a classic wiring short circuit. Either the cables of your power supply or the jack on the laptop itself are damaged and need to be repaired or replaced as soon as possible to avoid permanent damage. There is no logical reason it would work only in certain outlets, that is probably just coincidental to the way you have the cable running while plugged in to each outlet.

Your power supply has two cables, the side leading to the AC outlet is removeable and easily replaced but the side leading to the laptop's jack is not. Start with the AC plug. Leaving everything from the 'brick' to the laptop in a stable position, gently flex the AC cable until you see evidence of the short (usually a break in the wire, possibly chewed by the dog or snagged on the edge of a desk). If so, replace the AC wire. If not, try the same with the laptop side of the brick. If so you usually should replace the entire power supply unless you are real handy with a soldering iron.

If moving the position of the two power supply cables doesn't identify the short, you must suspect the laptop's jack of being loose. This is worst of all because the laptop motherboard has to be removed to gain access to resolder the jack, a professional job that will run probably $100.

sound like they have damaged the "new motherboard" when have installed it at the shop. Or they installed a cheap brand and it's not correctly sitting in the base. should ask them to show you the old motherboard they removed to make sure they haven't just fudged-up the old one.

Hp 1315 all in one

The all-in-one product does not turn on If the all-in-one product does not turn on at all, try the following actions in order to determine the cause:
  1. Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
  2. Unplug the power supply from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove the product cable from any power strips or surge suppressors, and plug it directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 20 seconds, then, plug in the supply back into the wall outlet.
  5. Plug in the power supply back into the printer.
  6. Press the power button to turn the printer on.
  7. For models that have an external power supply module, verify that the power supply module is plugged in correctly. Some power supply modules have a green LED built into the connector end or on the power supply module. This LED will be lit if power is present. If the LED is not lit, replace the power supply module.
  8. Plug the power cord into a different electrical outlet. If the all-in-one product has an ADF with an external cable plugged into the back of the product, use the following procedure:
    1. Turn off the unit.
    2. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
    3. Unplug the ADF cable from the back of the product.
    4. Plug the ADF cable to the back of the product.
    5. Plug in the power cable to the wall outlet, and turn on the power.
      1. If no change, the problem is not the ADF.
      2. If the problem clears, turn off the all-in-one, unplug the power cable, and reconnect the ADF.
      3. If the error returns, the ADF is defective. Contact HP Customer Care to get the ADF replaced.
  9. Disconnect the computer parallel cable from the back of the all-in-one product and try to turn on the product again. The computer might be grounding out through the parallel port. If this corrects the issue, check the grounding of the computer and outlet.
